When a powerful Japanese Yazuka is killed by Congressman Cabe's assistant, the Yazuka come to America, seeking revenge, and Walker and Trivette are assigned to protect the congressman.
David became the executive producer of Murder, She Wrote for its eighth season in 1991. However, he was replaced for the ninth season, since it was the only way Angela Lansbury would renew her contract with the show.

In addition to his multitude of television credits, he was the screenwriter for three movies: Daddy-o, from 1959, which was about a reluctant getaway driver for a robbery; Caper of the Golden Bulls in 1967, a suspense movie about a retired bank robber blackmailed into one last heist; and Number One, a 1969 film about an injured quarterback, played by Charlton Heston, struggling with his forced retirement.
