References to literature and poetry of which Koontz is a fan is a trademark of Koontz's. The poetry of T.S. Eliot plays a prominent role in The Taking , and many of the same lines by Eliot are seen in Velocity. Fear Nothing includes a character named Tom Eliot, another reference to the famous poet.
