The scene opens with Emma and Peter walking with Peter’s dad making conversation about Peter’s 17th birthday, as a blue convertible pulls up in front of them. As the valet hands Peter’s dad the keys, Peter insists that there has been a mistake, that that is not his dad’s car. “You right son, it’s not; it’s yours. Happy Birthday.” With a smile Peter’s dad hands him the keys to a brand new convertible. Emma and Peter jump in the car and drive off.
Emma and Peter pull into a parking lot and Peter remarks that “I am the luckiest guy in the world” and leans in for a kiss from Emma. Hearing someone calling her name, Emma looks up from the kiss to see Sean Cameron. Surprised to see him Emma gets out of the car and walks toward him. Sean explains that he has moved back and he is living with Jay. As jealousy strikes, Peter gets out of the car and prompts Emma to introduce him. With a friendly handshake, Sean greats Peter and tells them that he will see them at school tomorrow.
Outside of the school Spinner is talking to Ashley and Jimmy, when Darcy walks toward him. “Hi queen bee. Spare some honey” Spinner asks. She responds by saying, “For my king, anytime”, and leans in for a kiss. She admits that she has gotten over everything over the summer and is ready to give their relationship another try.
Jumping up from the drivers set, Peter tells some guys walking by to “check out my whips, I mean my car”. Laughing, the guys walk away and Emma notices Sean pulling into school. Peter makes an insecure comment about Sean in an attempt to get Emma’s attention. Trying to make him feel better Emma tells him that Sean has a “tire iron for a brain” and tells Peter that he is brains, biceps, beauty and a hot car all rolled into one. She then proceeds to give him a hat that she made for him for his birthday along with a kiss, as Sean watches from his car.
Inside the class room Mr. Simpson welcomes Sean back as Emma and Manny stare. Once everyone is seated and class starts, Emma still continues to stare at Sean.
Ellie and Marco discuss classes and home décor while in the living room of Marco and Dylan’s new house. Marco makes comments about how Ellie should have moved in with them, instead of living in a dorm.
Paige, stealing the conversation like she always does, walks in distributing coffee and throwing hints about her going away party. Dylan insists that they are having someone moving-in in two days and that they can not be throwing a party.
Sitting on a bench together, Manny and Sean talk about Emma. Manny tells Sean about the troubles that Emma has had in the past year and warns him that he is not to ruin her happiness now. Sean promises that he would not interfere and then jumps into Emma and Peter’s conversation to give Peter tips on how to change his air filter. Peter admits that he was only tying to make his car faster and Sean offers to help him install some parts that would speed it up. Peter gratefully accepts and Sean tells him to meet him in Woodbridge; which is were they hold illegal street races.
The scene changes to a parking lot in Woodbridge where Sean is hanging out with Jay and Alex. As Peter pulls up with Emma, Jay makes a comment about how good Emma looks and Alex comments on how Sean is staying close to Enemies.
Hanging out at The Dot, Marco and Ellie are picking out their classes for the semester and in walks Paige. She tosses Marco a catalog and reminds him of her party. Marco insists that she does not need a party, but Paige reminds him that they need to get all of their friends together before they all go off to start their new lives.
Back at the parking lot, Jay and Sean are working on Peter’s car as Emma stands off to the side knitting. Grabbing a chance to walk away from the others, Sean goes to talk to Emma. He questions her choice of activities and she in turn questions why he came back. When asked what he was running from, Sean reveals to Emma that he plans to open his own shop customizing cars in a year. Emma tries to be supportive and the two share a moment as Manny looks on un-approvingly.
Back at school Emma and Sean continue to stare at each other and share awkward moments. As they leave class, Manny gives Sean a warning look, but Sean pretends not to know why.
Marco and Dylan go on to interview roommates, but they can’t seem to find one that works. Marco takes the moment to inform Dylan that his father and Uncle are coming over tomorrow to help him move in. Dylan insists that it is a bad idea, because Marco’s father thinks that he and Dylan are just friends, but Marco convinces him that everything will be fine.
Emma and Manny are walking down the hall discussing Sean. Manny brings up the Sean situation, but Emma pretends that there is nothing there. As she is explaining, Peter walks up behind her and lucky for Emma, he does not hear anything. Peter tells Emma that Sean has invited them to go to the races, but Emma tells him that she was hoping to have a nice evening alone with him.
Emma and Peter are sitting in a restaurant and the only thing Peter can talk about is Sean and his car. Trying to be a great girlfriend, Emma tells him that they should leave and go to the car races, because she can tell that is were he wants to be.
Meanwhile, there is a party going on a Marco’s to say goodbye to Paige. Jimmy, Ashley, Spinner and Marco’s band is playing music when Darcy approaches Paige to tell her that she knew what happened between her and Spinner last year; but before she could speak her peace, Paige tells her to save the drama for high school and walks away.
Dancing to the music Marco’s father and Uncle Lou has arrived early to move Marco’s furniture. Marco pleads with them to leave, but his father insisted that they could not do it any other time. Trying to suck up, Dylan offers to help them carry the dresser that they are carrying. Mr. DelRossi insists that they have it, but Dylan won’t give up and Marco’s dad ends up falling and hurting his back.
The scene is back to the parking lot where Emma and Peter are hanging out with Jay and Alex around Peter’s car. Emma notices that Sean is standing alone, so this time she goes to join him. While leaning against his car, Sean ask Emma about what happened to her in the last year. She admits that she has had some hard times, but that things are better now. Interrupting their conversation, Alex announces that the races are about to begin and Peter is going to be racing Jay.
Both guys jump in their cars and the race begins. Just as Peter wins the race, you can hear police sirens. Sean grabs Emma’s arm and leads her to his car telling her that Peter will be ok. Reluctantly, she jumps in and they leave.
Marco and Paige sit at a table in his new place. Marco is apologizing for her party being ruined and Dylan is taking care of Mr. DelRossi in the background. Marco admits that he wanted it to be fun. He knows that everything is changing now and he admits to her that he is scared moving in with Dylan. Paige tells him that they are all scared, but they will get through it.
Pulling of the road, Sean admits that he is bad news and that he is making trouble for her. Emma insists that he is not trouble, she looks into his eyes and they start kissing. The phone rings while they are kissing, it is Peter, but Emma continues to make out with Sean.
When they pull up outside Emma’s house, Emma tells Sean that she has a boyfriend and that she is not that kind of girl. She tells him that it can’t happen again and gets out of the car.
Inside the house, Manny questions Emma where she was and tells her that they were worried, but Peter tells her that he was not worried, because he knows that she was with Sean. Manny gives Emma a knowing look.
While walking down the hall, Sean pulls Emma into an empty classroom to give her an expensive pair of earrings. Emma tells him that they are nice but she has a boyfriend and she can not accept them. Trying to cheer him up, Emma tells him that there are other girls at Degrassi, but Sean tells her that he knows what he wants and he wants her.
Ellie and Marco are waiting in a room full of people to hear who Ellie’s new roommate is going to be. Once they find out her room number and get her key they go to start moving her things in. When the two walk into the room they find that Ellie’s roommate is a little old-fashioned and overly friendly.
Manny approached Emma in the classroom and realizes that something happened between Emma and Sean. Manny tries to remind Emma about how good Peter has been to her and how he helped her get through her sickness. Emma assures her that this is no big deal and that she will figure it out.
Ellie returns to her room from getting some food to find that her roommate has hidden her print and unpacked her things. Her roommate insists that she was just trying to help, because Ellie was procrastinating.
Emma is walking through the parking lot of school when Peter rides up behind her in his new car. He tells her that Sean has bailed on the races for that night and wants to know if she wants to go with him. Emma tells him that she wants to take some space from him and Peter figures out that something has happened between Sean and Emma. Peter freaks out, calls her easy and Emma walks off.
On campus, Emma takes an article that she has written to the editor of the school paper. She tells him that she wants it published, but she does not want her name on it because she has said some hateful things in the article.
Back at Degrassi, Principal Hatzilakos comes to the class room and directs Sean to follow her. “There’s nothing in there Mrs. H” Sean promises. “I told you, I’m just following up on a tip, so let’s get this over with.” Sean unlocks his locker and opens the door; sitting right in front, Mrs. Hatzilakos finds a bag of Marijuana. Sean insists that it is not his but the evidence is very incriminating.
Outside of the school, Emma chases out after Sean. “I’m suspended indefinitely. I don’t get it, who would do this? Who would put drugs in my locker? Who hates me that much? Did you tell Peter?” Sean tries to figure out who has done this and realizes that Emma has told Peter about the kiss. “He did this…He’s the principals son. He probably figured some way to get into my locker” Sean Proclaims. Emma suggests that that is ridiculous and Sean is just being paranoid. “Then who? Who else planted it?” Sean asks her. Emma looks at Sean as if she believes that the drugs are his. Hurt, Sean asks her, “So you think I actually sell drugs”? “No, but you did buy me a pair of really expensive earrings” she accuses. Throwing his hands up, Sean walks way and tells Emma to go to h*ll.
Ellie knocks at the door of the school news paper and the editor, Jessie, comes over to talk to her. He holds up a copy of the news paper to show her article with a picture of her beside it. Upset, Ellie points out that she had requested that the article be anonymous. Apparently, Ellie had trashed the housing department, the administration and her new roommate. Jessie tells her “You want to be a journalist, that’s the name of the game. It’s about telling the truth, no matter what.”
Emma is sitting alone on a bench in hallway of Degrassi, when Peter walks up and joins her. He starts with a sympathetic speech, about how he heard the news about Sean and that he would do anything he could to help. Emma asks him if he knew about the drugs and Peter tells her that he knew Sean was into some stuff, but he did not know how deep. Emma notifies him that Sean had accused him of putting the drugs in his locker and Peter goes into some story about how he was hurt that Sean had betrayed him, but Sean was his friend and he would never do that. Finally, he apologized for what he had said to Emma and she apologized to him.
Outraged, Sean walks around outside throwing things and kicking boxes. He tells Jay that he should just leave and Jay tells him that instead of leaving, he should get back at him. Jay suggests that Sean should just race Peter to show him up. Sean agrees and jumps in the car to go to the races.
Ellie is returning to her room, after learning that her article has been published, to find her roommate throwing all her stuff out into the hall. When Ellie asks her what she is doing, she begins to read a line from Ellie’s article. “Why would you do this” she asks Ellie. “Look, I want to be a journalist and sometimes that means that people get hurt.” Ellie tries to explain that it was nothing personal; that she was trying to be a good journalist, but her roommate tells her that “the tribe has spoken Ellinore, give me your torch”. Then she yanks Ellie’s keys from her hands and closes the door.
Jay and Sean pull up to the races looking for Peter. When Sean spots him he jumps out of his car and demands that Peter do the same. Sean informs him that “We got a score to settle”. Peter responds by telling him that he did plant the drugs, but he had the right to, because Sean messed with his girlfriend. After a heated argument the two agree to a race to settle their differences.
Both guys are in their cars sitting at a red light. As they are waiting for the light to change, Sean reaches over to turn on the nitrous that Jay has just installed in his car. The light changes and the guys take off. They are Racing neck and neck down the road, when another car pulls out, forcing Sean and Peter to swerve. Unable to control the car, Sean hits a man that is jogging down the sidewalk. The man is lying on the sidewalk when both guys get out of their cars to check on him. Sean asks for Peter’s phone and calls 911 for an ambulance. As he hangs up the phone, Jay pulls up and suggests that Sean should leave. He tells him that, because he is 18, he will serve hard time. Unsure of what to do, Sean decides to take Jays advice and leaves the scene.
With no where else to go, Ellie shows up at Marco and Dylan’s house with her things. She insists that she only needs to stay for the night, until she can find somewhere to stay, but Marco talks her into moving in with them. After Dylan agrees, Ellie agrees.
Mr. Simpson is on the phone, in the next scene, learning about the accident. When he hangs up, he tells Emma and Manny about what happened. Emma can’t believe that Sean just bailed. Heading her mother’s suggestion, Emma decides to go to her room and get some rest. When she walks in and turns of the light, she discovers Sean sitting on her bed. “I screwed up Emma. I screwed up real bad.” Sean confesses to Emma that he has hit someone and then fled the scene. Emma informs him that the police are looking for him and that he should turn himself in.
Outside Emma’s house, the police are escorting Sean to the car. Once he is sitting in the back seat, handcuffed, Sean starts crying.
