Born October 31, 1963, is an American actor of Irish descent. He is 5'9½" tall.



Dermot Mulroney grew up in Alexandria, Va., and went to Maury Elementary School. He played the cello in school and city youth orchestras and acted in children's community theater. He made his high school stage debut in an awful play called "Are Teachers Human" at George Washington (I) High School. He graduated from T.C. Williams high school in 1981, which later became the setting of a Disney movie with Denzel Washington. He was unusually short for most of his years in high school and was



… More known for having a sharp, if not very nice, sense of humor. Graduated from Northwestern University in 1985, where he attended the School of Speech. Was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Northwestern University.



His college girlfriend, who was a year older than Mulroney, died shortly before her graduation from the school.



His father, Michael Mulroney, is a law professor at Villanova University School of Law, teaching Taxation courses and running the Graduate Tax program, as well as teaching Professional Responsibility. His father also races cars as a hobby. His mother, Ellen Mulroney, is originally from Manchester, Iowa. Ellen is an amateur actor and housewife.



He grew up with three brothers, Sean, Conor,and Kiera(now also an actor)and a sister named Moira. Is of predominantly Irish ancestry. All of his siblings have traditional Irish names.



He was married to actress Catherine Keener in 1990 after they met in 1987 when filming Survival Quest, although the couple separated in September 2005. Dermot filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 8, 2007. The couple has one son named Clyde, born June 1999.
In April 2008, he had his daughter Mabel Ray with girlfriend, Tharita Cesaroni. Mabel baptized at San Pietro's Church in Roccascalegna, Italy on Saturday (Oct. 4).

Mulroney, along with his brother Sean, own the Double Door, a Chicago music club. Also plays in a band called the Cranky George Trio.



Presently lives in Los Angeles.

    Ok of all Dermot's movies I just love this one with Debra. Wow the chemistry was without words, wooo. And I know I have watched it over and over again just to see his body after the shower. I think he took the romantic comedy to a new level and it was a nice break out of an old plot. Still the… More shower scene is my favorite...

    Dermott Mulrony isn't a bad actor, but I don't think he's really great. He has been in some wonderful movies, but his roles have all been secondary to the main character. I'd like to see him take on more leading roles.

    Can we all say oh so sexy!! I mean that is the first thing that comes to mind and next is what a great voice he has! Wow and the best part is he is great actor all around! Is he married? LOL While note every movie has been a block buster after Wedding Date he made himself a top leading man. And I would consider putting an ad for a wedding date after that move if I knew I would get him for a date. he is multi talented and come one lady, to die for. And that voice *sigh*
