Deryle is an actor, artist and horseman. As a child, "I grew up in my grandpa's, no...my dad's paradise. I chopped alot of wood, feed horses, cows and pigs, chickens..I would go fishing and hunting deer and elk in the mountains,and do stuff like jump on horses in the snow. I remember a lot of school, alot of elders, alot of family... I grew up with the gentle guidance of my grandpa and grandma teaching the ways of Taos Pueblo Indian -I honor that." Deryle graduated Taos High School, Class of 1980. He went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. Later, Deryle registered at The Institute of American Indian Arts in Sante Fe, NM and joined the 200 Air Defense Artillary Training Brigade "which used to be calvary" of The New Mexico Army National Guard. Deryle started acting in the late 80s by "wrangling horses on the set." He was chosen and moved up to stand-in. "They dressed me up with a wig on my head and then from there we did horseback scenes- Bernard Lujan and Freddy Lujan and me - They told me to get some Taos guys and I did that movie and it was fun." Deryle also trains horses. Deryle has performed internationally riding bareback and doing other stunts on horseback. Mr. Lujan was most recently cast in Ron Howard's The Missing(2003). DCLUJAN2004
