This is the second time Edie hires a private investigator to track her ex. The first was with Karl. (edit) Gabrielle jokes about being Punk’d. In fact, Eva Longoria was one of the celebrities to get Punk’d on the popular show, appearing with Jesse Metcalfe, who turned out to be one of the gang and was part of the scheme to set up Eva. Coincidentally, Jesse makes a guest appearance in this episode. (edit) Goof: Danielle says she is turning 18 in a week's time. However, Danielle turned 17 sometime in late season 2, and her birthday was celebrated in episode 2-22, 4 weeks late, because Bree had forgotten about it. Mike was run over by a car sometime after that in the season 2 finale. In episode 3-22 Susan says it's been exactly one year since Mike was run over, meaning that either Susan or Danielle have trouble with the calendar. (edit)

When Lee says, "First they came for the fountains, and I did not speak up because I had no fountains...etc." He is referring to a famous poem by Martin Niemöller that was famous during the time of the Holocaust called, "First They Came".
