Show Summary

About ten years ago on a sunny day in the loveliest of suburbs, in a town called Fairview, housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) decided to end it all. Now she takes us into the lives of her friends, family and neighbors... Her circle of girlfriends on Wisteria Lane includes Susan Mayer (TeriMore Hatcher), a known klutz who recently remarried the love of her life; Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), who struggles with her family and career; Bree Hodge (Marcia Cross), the owner of a thriving catering business and a successful cookbook author, whose lovelife is very complicated nowadays; the ex-model turned housewife Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker), who finds herself chasing after two daughters plus a wild niece. The ladies have welcomed the now single Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany), who lived on the street once before when Mary Alice was alive, into their small, tight-knit group, and the newest housewife to arrive on the lane, Angie Bolen (Drea de Matteo), promises to shake things up quite a bit. Then there are the men: Mike Delfino (James Denton), Susan's husband, a charming plumber; Lynette's adorable husband, Tom (Doug Savant), who always stays by his wife's side despite many challenges; Gabrielle's husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira), who works hard to provide for his wife and daughters; Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan), a devoted husband to Bree; and Nick Bolen (Jeffrey Nordling), Angie's creepy and secretive husband. The kids include Julie Mayer (Andrea Bowen), Susan's polite and charming daughter, who is now keeping some secrets of her own; Porter Scavo (Charlie Carver), one of Lynette and Tom's twins, an emotional rebel; Parker (Joshua Logan Moore) and Penny (Kendall Applegate), the Scavos' younger children; MJ Delfino (Mason Vale Cotton), Susan and Mike's cute young boy; Juanita (Madison De La Garza) and Celia (Daniella Baltodano), the Solises' young, mischievous daughters; Ana Solis (Maiara Walsh), Carlos' manipulative and spoiled niece; and Danny Bolen (Beau Mirchoff), Angie's strange and moody 19-year-old son. And finally there are the gay couple, Bob (Tuc Watkins) and Lee (Kevin Rahm), who moved from the city for a more quieter, peaceful life, and local busybody Karen McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten). From her unique vantage point, Mary Alice sees more now than she ever did alive, and she's planning to share all the delicious secrets that hide behind every neighbor's closed door in this seemingly perfect American suburb. "Desperate Housewives" stars Brenda Strong as Mary Alice Young, Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Hodge, Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair (season 4 onwards), Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt (seasons 1-5), Drea de Matteo as Angie Bolen (season 6), Alfre Woodard as Betty Applewhite (season 2), James Denton as Mike Delfino, Ricardo Antonio Chavira as Carlos Solis, Doug Savant as Tom Scavo, Kyle MacLachlan as Orson Hodge (season 3 onwards), Andrea Bowen as Julie Mayer, Shawn Pyfrom as Andrew Van de Kamp, Joy Lauren as Danielle Van de Kamp, Mark Moses as Paul Young and Cody Kasch as Zach Young (seasons 1-2), Steven Culp as Rex Van de Kamp (season 1), Jesse Metcalfe as John Rowland (season 1 - recurring afterwards), Roger Bart as George Williams (seasons 1-2), Richard Burgi as Karl Mayer (season 2 - recurring otherwise), Mehcad Brooks as Matthew Applewhite (season 2), Josh Henderson as Austin McCann and Dougray Scott as Ian Hainsworth (season 3), Rachel Fox as Kayla Huntington (seasons 3-4), Lyndsy Fonseca as Dylan Mayfair (season 4), Neal McDonough as Dave Williams (season 5), Maiara Walsh as Ana Solis (season 6), Jeffrey Nordling as Nick Bolen and Beau Mirchoff as Danny Bolen (season 6) and Kathryn Joosten as Karen McCluskey. Umbelievably Funny! :D hide show

When I first heard of Desperate Housewives, and watched the adverts on television, I thought, "I bet that is so boring." I thought that it would be one of those cheap, tarty shows with cougar women in it. But, one day in June 2009, I was proved wrong. With nothing on the television, me and my mum watched it on E4, and absolutely LOVED it!!! It is so funny, smart and witty with an interesting range of characters. The storylines are very entertaining too. Now, I'm a huge fan and watch it every week on Channel 4 - long live Desperate Housewives!!! :D

    7.5 Good

A great show, but has lost it's edge.. hide show

Despite my longtime love for Desperate Housewives these last few seasons have been quite disappointing all around. Not until season four did I really find my love again. The mystery was great, the acting and interactions on all of the cast was sublime, and the addition of a sixth housewive seemed to glue the mold back together.

The stories up until that point had been repetitive, they lacked the thrill and twist that DH is so famed for and there was such a lack of interaction between the neighbors that it annoyed fans worldwide. The constant use of Teri Hatcher or Marcia Cross as the characters involved in the mysteries became quite old, quite fast and generally annoying. Susan has had some sort of involvement in each mystery since the beginning, not giving the other ladies a fair chance at the pie so to speak. Bree's marriage to Orson is nothing but a joke now, and no one should kid themselves otherwise. His treatment of her and their relationship, this season especially, is not only degrading to most of the women viewers polled but the "BrOrson" relationship has turned to ice. There's no spark anymore and the writers should let it swim with the fishes it already. Like the BrOrson relationship, the Mike/Susan drama that has spanned the seasons has become a bore, and the writers continue to find the need to fuel the fire. Either keep it or break it and finally make up your minds.

The only characters with any merit anymore are Gabrielle and Lynette by far. Lynette, who constantly deals with the harder turmoils out of the wives has become a tad repetitive herself, with Tom and her challenging each other each season as to who will work and who will watch the kids. Not only that, but every season Lynette is painted as the bad guy, while Tom gets off scot free. Gabrielle, who has undergone quite a change since the show started, is now a mother to two young girls. Watching Gabby deal with motherhood as well as the new addition of her niece Ana has been quite amusing and tender, let's hope it stays that way. The show has lacked it's usually bright comic relief since Nicollette Sheridan left the show last season, and the writers waste of Dana Delany's talent hasn't helped it much either. As a great comedic genius Delany's character was turned into the typical clingy, insecure woman. Which is a far cry from what we originally saw and came to love. Overall, the show is still genereally good every week. With a little tweek here and there each episode, and the writers taking time to keep their stories and content accurate (they cannot seem to keep ages, dates, comments, etc straight) the show may end up ending off on it's former high note. For the mean time, the fans are still eager to watch each week but many longtime fans are only tuning in every now and then. Which really, is a pity when you think about it. Come on writers, start biting those juicy apples you so shamefully forgot about.

There son is called MJ who is about 4. Mike dated Catherine afterwards while susan was dating Jackson. Then there is carlos, Gabbys on and off relationship in the end they got married and had 2 kids calle wanita and sombody who I forgot. He is blind but get his eyesite back after the fire in season 5. Then there is Ton Scavos he is the husband of Lynette he has4 kids Porter, Preston, and a little girl and boy. He works in a pizza place with his wife. Lastly Orson Hodge, Bree's husband he has had a lot of bad history he has been to prison tryyed to kill one of his friends and so on. He is still pretty perfect. I love the men on wiesteria lane some are funny, some are hot (like Mike Delfino), and some are very friendly even giving there past! I love Deasperate Housewives alot!

Enough with the apples already! hide show

Susan and Mike, Susan and Mike, Susan and Mi--- *yawn*... it's getting quite tired. There really isn't much in the beginning of this season to make me want to continue watching... except Bree's tawdry affair, perhaps. Watching poor Lynette deal with yet more kids is making me cringe, while the usual round of suburban-loonies in Katherine and the new mysterious kid next door is not very fresh. And it's a shame, because the show still has some great moments - but while exploring what goes in perfect neighbourhoods might've been intriguing a few years ago, it's run out of steam - and I'm in no mood for a season-long 'whodunit' murder mystery. Let them fall to the ground and rot already.

Hey, I think Desperate Housewives is one of the best drama shows of todays television.
It is a program that addresses many issues in a way that other programs does not know how to do it.
Another highlight is that the program can mater the level in all seasons, another thing that many other programs can not do.
The characters are very funny and adorables, it is impossible do not love Susan, Lynette, Bree and Gaby, among many others
So if you are looking for some distraction, go watch Desperate Housewives, is really good! I can bet you, all Brazil fans like me indicates that program!
