To explain the previous goofs, they clearly say at the dinner "You seem to lean left," so although right handed, he may eat left handed, which isn't entirely uncommon. He could have gotten in trouble at first for doing one thing left handed, and the attempts at execution later where because he tried to unionize the workers. (edit) Dilbert is right-handed in the comic strip. (edit) Dilbert is persecuted for being left-handed when he uses his left hand to use his fork.
