Dita: (on the best thing about her divorce from Marilyn Manson) There's a long list of things. I am happy to have the drugs out of my life. I took my engagement diamond and had it transformed at Christian Dior in Paris into a beautiful ring. It's nice; it's big. I feel like I suffered greatly for that diamond, and it needed to be reborn into something better.
(edit)
Dita: I don't think the word "stripper" is a bad word. I was a failed ballerina, so I found a way to satisfy my dreams and to be a performer.
(edit)
Dita: The British are really quite kinky. I love being in London because it has a great heritage of burlesque. They were the first girls to wear fishnet tights and lift their skirts and, by all accounts, they were very sexy in their G-strings.
(edit)
Dita: I had a cat as a child and it had seven or eight kittens so I understood from a young age that it mattered to me where these babies went. You have to be responsible not just for your pet but for any animals your pet will produce, so I've always spayed and neutered my pets.
(edit)
Dita: (on working with PETA but not giving up wearing fur) PETA's totally aware of me. I'm not working with PETA to tell people to be vegetarians or to stop wearing fur. I am there to strictly speak about spaying and neutering your pets.
(edit)
Dita: I love playing the part of the damsel in distress.
(edit)
Dita: (on being part of Frederick’s of Hollywood’s 2007 holiday ad campaign) As a longtime fan of the history of the Frederick's brand, it's a great honor to be chosen to represent the company by appearing as the star of the 2007 Holiday Pin-Up Parade. Frederick's of Hollywood has been giving women the accoutrements they desire to bring glamour and sensuality into their lives by offering a wide selection of both the elegant and the risqué since 1946. I'm proud to be the face of such a legendary institution of lingerie.
(edit)
Dita: (about what she wants in a relationship) There are lots of things that I would not like in my next relationship. But I would like to be with someone who is maybe a little bit more even-tempered, or someone with good manners. Maybe not someone who is 'nice' - that isn't really the word - but someone who says please and thank you, is even-tempered and doesn't break all the windows in the house. That would be cool.
(edit)
Dita: (on ballet dancing) By 15 I was as good as I’d ever be.
(edit)
Dita: (on ex-husband Marilyn Manson) He's been very vocal about his depression and drug use... I tried to get him help and he chose not to change his lifestyle and not to get better. I think he decided to surround himself with people who want to live that lifestyle as well.
(edit)
Dita: (on what she wears when relaxing) My casual look consists of maybe a pair of ballet flats, a little feminine, cap-sleeved T-shirt, and a ‘50s-style cotton skirt with a pretty print on it or something. To me, that’s casual and comfortable.
(edit)
Dita: In 1990, when I was 18 or 19, I worked in the LA rave scene as a go-go dancer. I was very well-known as a performance artist and go-go dancer, and always retro-styled. I was also working in a lingerie store and as a ballet dancer, and I thought, ‘Why not try stripping?’ So I walked into a strip club one time and I thought, ‘Oh, this would be fun’, because I was always up for adventure.
(edit)
Dita: When I was little, I remember watching Jayne Mansfield in The Girl Can’t Help It and making a promise when I grew up I was going to have curves like that: the clinched-in waist, the big bust, and those ample hips that just popped off the screen. I’ve never made a secret about having my breasts done. It’s something I’m proud of. The message I want to get out is that anyone can do this. Honestly, without my bag of tricks, I am pretty ordinary – it’s just that I have a pretty nice bag of tricks.
(edit)
Dita: (on her marriage to Marilyn Manson) We were completely monogamous. I think people thought we were free and open, but we really believed in commitment, tradition, and our vows. But sometimes people change their ideas, I suppose.

(edit)
Dita: (on getting married again after divorcing Marilyn Manson) I definitely hope to marry again. I believe in that kind of commitment. And I saw some stunning wedding dresses in Paris.
(edit)
Dita: The one time I hired a stylist, they picked up a pair of my 1940s shoes and said, "These would look really cute with jeans." I immediately said, 'You’re out of here.'
(edit)
Dita: No one has seen me out at a party having had too much to drink showing my boobs or butt. I'm not that wild kind of girl.
(edit)
Dita: I hear people who are trying to do burlesque say, 'Well, we won't take our clothes off because that's not classy.' I think that's offensive to stars from the past like Gypsy Rose Lee. Burlesque isn't a style, it's all about stripping.
(edit)
Dita: (on wearing lingerie) It puts the tease in strip tease.
(edit)
Dita: I always get billed as 'Dita, internationally known fetish supermodel.'
