Do As Infinity first made their debut on September 29, 1999 with their hit single "Tangerine Dream." The band members included Dai Nagao (composer and guitar), Tomiko Van (vocals) and Ryo Owatari (guitar). Their work has been impressive so far. By the time they had released their first album "BREAK OF DAWN", they were already a well-known band. As of 2001 Dai Nagao stopped playing an active role in the band, such as performing and showing up in promotion videos, and has instead continued to work only behind the scenes, though still an official member of the band.

The band announced their break up on September 29, 2005, just 6 years after their debut. They have since went their seperate ways and are focusing on solo careers and working with other artists.

In 2000, Do As Infinity performed the theme of the live action movie Uzumaki entitled "Raven".(edit)
Do As Infinity took a trip to Taiwan where the cover of their single "Rumble Fish" was taken. This trip also became the inspiration of one of their most popular songs, "Shinjitsu no Uta", which was released about two years after it was first written.(edit)
During the Korea & Japan Friendship Week in JEJU in 2004, Do As Infinity performed in Korea along with JTL, a Korean hip hop group.(edit)
