Trying to take his companions to Mars, the Doctor instead ends up on the Moon in the year 2070. Earth's weather is controlled by means of gravity waves directed from an internationally-run Moonbase, but the staff of the Moonbase are suffering from a mysterious outbreak of plague, and moments after the Doctor and his friends enter the entire Moonbase is placed under quarantine. The Doctor offers to help find a cure for the plague, which he suspects is no plague at all – and he's right. The base's food supplies have in fact been poisoned by Cybermen from the colony world Telos, who intend to seize control of the Graviton and use it to destroy the Earth – not as revenge for the destruction of Mondas, but simply and logically to eliminate a potential threat. - The reason Benoit wears a tie is that they changed the character's first name after designing his costume, which sported the initial of the old name. Unfortunately, the tie fails to cover the incorrect initial. edit »
- Throughout the episode, the gravitron is pointed at the Atlantic ocean. Many hours pass, during which the Earth would revolve on its axis until the Atlantic would be pointed away from the moon. edit »
- The climax of the episode seems rather far-fetched. A cyberman is revealed to have been concealed under covers on one of the sick beds. It seems unlikely Polly or anyone else would have failed to notice an extra body in the sick bay! edit »
- Hobson notes they need to keep a hurricane in the Pacific Ocean. However, the Gravitron is pointed at the Atlantic and the hurricane is threatening Miami. edit »
- Some fairly obvious model work: closeups of the transparent dome from the outside only show the Gravitron, not any of the desks, controls, people, etc. edit »

- The Doctor: There are some corners of the universe that have bred the most terrible things, things which act against everything that we believe in. They must be fought. edit »
