Fantasy
In the year 2020, Echo and the few surviving Dollhouse staff struggle to restore mankind after the devastating events seen in the unaired first season episode, "Epitaph."
They can be anyone you want. The Dollhouse is a very secret, and very illegal, place where wishes come true. Clients with the right connections and enough money can hire "Actives", people who have been programmed to perfectly fulfill the needs, and desires of their clients. The Actives are… More people who have chosen, for their own reasons, to surrender their bodies and minds for a five-year stay in the Dollhouse. Now they can be imprinted with any personality, skill, or even muscle memory. They can be the perfect companion, lover, spy, assassin; and when the job is done they forget everything. But something is wrong with the Active called "Echo". No longer just a blank slate waiting for her next assignment, Echo is remembering flashes of the lives that she has lived and the games she has played, and she is starting to wonder just who she really is... Dollhouse is a production of 20th Century Fox Television, Joss Whedon's "Mutant Enemy", and Eliza Dushku's "Boston Diva Productions".
This thread is just what it says. Here is a place where forum members can just chat about the show or whatever else they feel like. Basic rules of TOS still apply (so... be cool to each other) but no one will be moderated for being "off-topic" in here unless they are being really obnoxious and… More disrupting the existing conversation. Please avoid "spamming" this thread. In other words, a few messages back and forth between two or more users is fine, but if a personal or small-group conversation goes more than a few messages, please take it to a blog (you can even leave a link to the rest of the conversation in case anyone wants to follow you). This is sort of a situational rule. I won't give you hard numbers or anything, but we should all be able to use common sense to know when a simple conversation is turning into spam or a thread hijack. LOCATION : Most threads of this sort have a location. That is, they pretend to take place in an area that is important in the series they are discussing. Unfortunately, we have very little to base such a decision on until we see more of the show itself. Once the first season begins we should be able to come up with a location that makes sense. At that point we can either start a new thread or rename this one. Until then, though, have fun! I want this forum to become one of the premiere spots for Dollhouse fans to gather, and given the history of some of the other forums on TV.com, I think that is entirely possible. hey I just finished the first season and I've found out the show ended! can anybody tell me if you know why ??? only two short seasons ... thats weird... thanks!

it looks like it was cut from 22 to 13 episodes. hide show
The last 3 episodes looks so rushed, it wasn't even good.. the cut scene where badly done.. it looks like the last arc of the story should have been 10 episode instead of 1. so much things are unexplain because of this.. the little Echo was useless, why put her in? how did Rossom manage to get all those people wiped? the people at FOX are really bad decision maker. so many show that got cancelled/reduced before their times... and I think Elisa Dushku (always messing up her name..) still has a lot to learn about directing. the acting in this last episode, including everyone, wasn't really the best of them.

The acting in Doll house was almost as woody and hard as that of the above doll houses. Given the hype surrounding this screening I was left a little distasteful. When you compare this to something of the elk of Breaking Bad, it pales to insignificance. A little boring at times, the cut scenes to emotional teenagers a little boring too. Take a leaf out of breaking bad I'd say. Doll house, waste of time in my oppinion

Dollhouse was pretty much doomed before it started, it was greenlighted by fox during the writer strike and put on the friday night deathslot. At first Dollhouse's episodes were...not entertaining the plots weren't compelling the characters unrelateable but during my second watch of the first season I really enjoyed all the episodes and was able to connect with the characters the second time around. The premise however manages to leave a lot of people uneasy because basically boiled down it's about trafficking (spelling) but it also addresses a lot of issues and asks some philisophical questions such as "Is it our souls that make us who we are or Our personality?" which the show through it's run answers. I recommend Dollhouse to anyone.

i think its bull crap that fox took it off the air. i think they should have given it more time. i miss this show. please bring it back. i think it will get better reviews if you bring it back. there are a lot of people who are angry because its not on anymore. this was an awesome show and it deserves another chance. maybe give it some time and try again and see what happens. it really was a great show. i never missed an episode. there are other shows out there that are way worse and they are still on. come on now.
I'm a complete sucker for sci fi series and movies.
But I do have a sense of taste, whether it's a good sense of taste is to be discussed :) Nevertheless; this is what I think of Dollhouse!
I personally was captured from episode numbero uno.
(So if you're not, it might just not be your thing.)
I loved it! And, even though I miss Dollhouse since it was cut, I'm not that sad about the fact that it was such a short run in the end.
Two very brief seasons were made to a beautiful whole.
Actually, I think it's because it was so short it gives the feeling they had the storyline all plotted out before they started shooting even the first one.
(A bit like I had when I started watching Lost, and then after a few seasons got the feeling they exactly lost track of what their main idea was... Maybe Lost should've been cut short as well... But i'm getting sidetracked)
If you like this kind of stuff; watch it!
