Dora the Explorer features the adventures of Dora, her monkey Boots, her Backpack and many other animated characters. In each episode, viewers help her to go an adventure in an animated world set inside a computer.

The third season of the program kicked off with "Dora's Star-Catching Adventure," introducing a new concept in which viewers interact with the show by searching for explorer-stars in each episode. A number of episodes are available in book form and on commercial video/DVD, including a couple direct-to-video releases. There are also a number of episodes and movies produced, but still unaired.

Dora the Exploreris currently in repeats on Nick Jr. and Noggin. Noggin airs the program every day including weekends at 3 and 4 P.M., but only shows first-season episodes. Nick Jr. shows episodes weekdays at 10 A.M., 11 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. and also occasionally organizes special showings in a marathon format. All repeats tend to be in a random order and all times listed are eastern.

• The New Voices

  Did you notice that some of the characters' voices for the newest season have changed? They must've hired new voiceovers. I like the first voices better from the past seasons. Dora's voice is new, and so are Boots's and Benny's. Do you know any other character voices that are new?

  It was greatest show in the old days but nowadays ehhhh...... hide « show »

  I used too love too love this show when i was a kid, i stopped watching show when i was 9. i suprised the show is still on air until now. I kinda hate this show nowadays because, the question is more obvious than the old Dora. And it is also more childish than the old seasons. I recommended this show is for little kids who are 4 years below.
  
  Plot: There's no plot. The plot is just repitative, its just all about exploring again and again in every episodes.
  
  Humor:
  
  There's no humor just educational, educational at all.
  
  Art:
  
  The art was good and colorful too.
  
  Characters: OK
  
  Overall: 4.0 for teenagers 10 for little kids
  
  Once again i recommended this show is for kids who are 7 yaears below in the old days and 4 years below for the new days.

  My last 300-word review got deleted, so I am going to rewrite it. I dont like this show. I dont see why we need it. hide « show »

  I don`t like this show. I never really did even as a child (kind of hard to believe, right?). This show is for those little kids, not for teenagers like me. This show never really appealed me. But my little brother likes it. This is a show where I can automatically switch the t.v. off. I don`t like this show at all. Please don`t delete this review for trolling, I am just expressing my opinion. I dont find this show good at all. Never liked it, never will. It is for little kids, which I am no longer. If I could recommend either this or spongebob, I would recommend spongebob, because spongebob is for all ages (even adults and the elderly), and dora is for kids 6 and under. Since I am 14, I dont find the show appealing at all. I really wouldn`t recommend this to teenagers. This show is not that educational either. All it teaches kids is how to speak spanish, and that inanimate objects can talk. A very unrealistic show. 3 year olds can barely talk, so why teach them spanish? I am done. I dont like dora at all.

  Okay, I must have been pretty retarded to like this show, because this is possibly the show that caused all these preschooler shows to stink, due to it's success.
  
  Now, because everyone (little kids, I mean) likes this stupid show, all these new little kids shows are copying the style of Dora. They're written to have the characters "talking" to the viewer and stuff like that. I'd go more in-depth with that, but such an argument should be carried into the forums.
  
  What do I think of the show? I'm glad you asked:
  
  Animation: The early episodes have OK animation, but the 3D effects in the second version of the intro are just plain messed up. 3/10
  
  Sound: If it weren't for the annoying characters and stuff, my rating would probably be higher. 2/10
  
  Humor: "Oops! The cake was on my head the whole time!" -- The Big Red Chicken (Super Silly Fiesta)
  
  Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Whoa, man. That's hilarious! NOT!
  
  The only thing from the show that I think is funny even a little bit which is from the same episode, ironically, is the part where Dora and Boots are at the gate and have to correct the problems in the songs he sings. One of the things he sings is "There was a farmer, had a dog, and underpants was his name-o," but even that's not intended to be funny and I only think it's funny due to the extreme stupidity of it. 1.5/10
  
  Stories: Well, from a little kids show from the Dora era, you'd expect something bad, right? 4/10
  
  Music: Aaah! I can't even talk about it. It's that annoying! 0/10
  
  Please, parents, don't expose your children to this. Show them the goodness like the stuff Playhouse Disney showed in 1998.
  
  Final Words: If you watch Nickelodeon, you'll see Dora crud advertised. Mute your volume and close your eyes when it comes on.
  
  Avoid Dora at all costs, and same goes for Go Diego, Go! and that show about the Chinese girl that they just made.

  A little girl who speaks spanish does stuff with her monkey friend boots.I just can't believe that I even watched this show that was stupider than the one thats a spin-off Go Diego Go.The spanish languge thing was another of those stupid ideas that they did a lot.It's like teaching are kids to speak another language.When they can't even see where something is,a computer clicker comes and points to it.Can't they even see where the place is?Can't they just turn around?I feel like this show had nothing to do with one of the best tv shows ever,it counts for making the worst show ever made on Nickelodeon.I really give this show a F- for doing not so good stuff and nobody can't even make friends with a talking monkey on this lame-o show.This is one of the worst shows in history.

  Both little kids and older kids think this show is crap and I know they are right. One time, I woke up really early and I decided to turn on Nickelodeon to watch until my mom woke up. That was my first mistake. Dora the Explorer was on and I had heard that this was a show for little kids, but I kept on watching anyway. That was my second mistake. It was the most boring, stupid, sappy, crappy thing I have seen on TV in my whole ******* life! It's so full of sap that a maple tree could die from having so much! All the characters are so sweet and innocent, it's unbearable! Anyway, don't watch this show unless you're Homer Simpson after he got his crayon removed from his brain and wants to be dumb again, because this show is not educational and it will make you dumb!!!:(
