Bicycle messengers in New York struggle to get by and survive city traffic and other trouble. hide « show »

"Double Rush" never stood a chance. They were up against Roseanne, for crying out loud! Because of this, virtually no-one got to appreciate this show filled with quirky yet likeable characters, among them Robert Pastorelli as Double Rush owner Johnny Verona, Adam Goldberg as Leo and David Arquette as the (w)reckless Hunter. As with so many sitcoms, this show's strength lies not with its main character (Verona), but in the characters surrounding him. There's Leo, the loudmouthed, intense, wisecracking tough guy. Or The Kid, the inappropriately named old man, who is the only one on the crew who doesn't ride a bike, instead choosing to make his deliveries on foot. The newest addition to the roster is Zoe (Corrine Bohrer), the irrepressable Harvard graduate, who is convinced that her job at Double Rush is just temporary. All these characters, each with their distinct traits, make Verona's life a hard one, as he struggles to keep his business afloat. All in all this show was every bit as worth watching as any other of that time. It just was unfortunate enough to run into a giant.

We follow the fast paced lives of wise cracking bike messengers in New York City. This cast is full of exciting young talented actors, as well as a few seasoned veterans. hide « show »

This show was amazing, a great watch, and cut short before it had a chance to be mainstream hit. The show was chalked full of young actors that went on to be funny elsewhere, DL Hughley, Adam Goldberg, David Arquette, and the ageless Phil Leeds. This show went had great veteran actors behind it, Richard Portnow and Robert Pasorelli and it still got rung up. I have no doubt that if this show were brought back now it would fit in perfectly in a network such as Spike or Comedy Central. In many ways it went down much like other shows such as Sports Night and more recently Justice, young, with large fan support, and a network that changed its time slot more than they changed their socks.
