I agree with you on Jack and Bobby, and I want to include Everwood.

It seems like there is a pattern that any show that requires some thinking and is not a mind numbing entertainment gets the axe.

Friends had 10 seasons and didn't get cancelled. It just ended. I have to admit though, I miss Friends terribly.

My favorite canned shows would be Life As We Know It and Joey.

For dramas, definitely Firefly & Point Pleasant. I will never forgive Fox for canning these shows!

Hmm... the fact that I seem to be the first person iin 8 pages to mention Deadwood might go some way to explaining why it was cancelled! Still, thought it was the best thing on TV since Firefly. And I will love Al Swearengen forever...

Anyone remember Malibu Shores. Don't know what happened, but all of a sudden it wasn't on.

Dark Angel, John Doe, The X-Files

Most importantly/recently Stargate SG-1... that was so not cool of the network....

Firefly and Arrested Development. Kind of The X-Files, but it started to suck toward the end, so I can understand why.

Favorite cancelled shows: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Tru Calling, E-Ring, Love Monkey.  With the exception of Buffy and Angel, the others were not given a real chance by their networks. Buffy wasn't given a great chance by it's original network either.  Unfortunately, it seems you gotta sprint from the starting box and never slow down or you're gone. Thing is, lots of shows just need time to develop a voice, get stronger, build an audience. doesn't happen overnight Jag took a cancellation by NBC only to be picked up by cbs and and had a fantastic run Buffy got cancelled by it's network, picked up by another and run for 7 years. You'd think networks would take note of that.

I am a bit confused, which is easily done, but I don't consider Alias, Friends, MASH, Sex in the City, Everyone Loves Raymond, etc. cancelled shows. They are shows that the actors have decided to move on or that the show has run it's course as in MASH.

Some of the shows which I consider to be 'cancelled' (storyline never finished) and wish they had not left viewers hanging are:   Invasion - Surface - Reunion - American Dreams

Of course I do miss Alias and Friends though I don't consider them as cancelled.
