    Well, lets see....................top 5-10??

Medium - Just love all the actors and the unusual stories. I like trying to figure out her dreams.

Dexter - Unique and different from the usual dramas. Dexter is a great character.

The Unit - Like the Military theme and that they all do what is necessary at all costs.

Criminal Minds - Like the profiling aspect I guess.

Moonlight - I have always loved vampire stories and in this show you see a more human side. Love Anne Rice.

Life - I like the underlying story of who framed Crews and that there is a complete story in each episode also.

The Closer - All that Southern drawl and her "Thank you, thank you so much" line when questioning a suspect.

Las Vegas - love Tom Selleck and will watch pretty much anything if he is in it.

NCIS - I like how the charactors interact with each other. Bickering but affectionate.

Law & Order - I like all the L&O's but I think the original is my favorite. I do like SVU and CI also but I really liked Lenny. I have liked all the ones that have been on since Jerry Orbach passed away but Lenny had such great one-liners.

I would put Saving Grace on my list but then I would have to say why I liked it and I really don't know. It is kinda like I don't like it but I can't miss it. Grace is obnoxious and has a lot of reasons to dislike her. Maybe I watch it to see Holly Hunter because she is amazing.

Queer As Folk-I don't know what it is but I just love this show. It's addicting, bold, has great characters and yes it's a little provocative obviously but it's not as though it's porn believe me.

Angel-Joss Whedon shows are some of the best ever created but Angel is my all time favorite. Some of the best characters in television are on this show.

Gilmore Girls-Even though it's a drama/comedy it's become one of my top three shows over the last two years or so. It's so quicrky and light hearted, with a little deep emotional drama and romantic turmoil thrown in. It's a great mix.

Firefly-This show ended way, way to soon and we didn't get near what we deserved but from the few episodes we did get Joss turned out some great stuff. Great ecclectic characters, a surprisingly wonderful mix of sci-fi/western and some really great episodes some that focused more on humor others more on the dramatic.

Buffy-This was the first show I ever really loved and no matter what new shows I jump onto Buffy will always be my first love. Who would think that a show about a teenage girl slaying vampires would be as fantastical as it was. Heroes-Even though I didn't love season 2 as much as season 1 this is the first new show I have liked in quite some time. The dialogue can sometimes be a little over dramtic and heavy handed but short of that it's an addicting show that can really surprise.

House-I am really not a fan of medical shows but I really enjoy House. Sometimes the episodes can seem a little serialized but they do a good job of shaking things up now and again.

Nip/Tuck- Shock, shock, shock. This show will shock you all the time. More so in the first three seasons but season 5 seems to be picking up the shock value again.

Rescue Me-I really only watched it because I enjoyed Nip/Tuck so much and I was told that Rescue Me was another great shocking FX drama. And man oh man was that right. It's not really quite as in your face shocking as Rescue Me but it has it's own style.

Rome-Talk about a great historical drama. I don't really know much about Roman history so I don't really know how accurate it is or isn't but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it.

You must be reading our minds. My wife and/or I love all the shows you listed -- for the same reasons you listed! -- except the two I quoted we don't watch and which I dislike for the reasons you mentioned: the "thanks yous" drive me crazy and the bickering I find annoying. But that your reasons so closely matched ours, I find so amusing. So many times my wife has said "I love Lenny's one-liners!"

Anyway, my own personal top five current shows (many of which my wife doesn't like) would be:

    1. Journeyman (not officially cancelled yet!)
    2. The Unit
    3. Jericho
    4. Moonlight
    5. Medium

Battlestar Galactica - No show gets me as excited as this show does. It is so intense, moving and thought provoking. With storylines focusing on such varied topic and government, military, relationships and religion this show has so much to offer. It has complex interesting characters portrayed by an excellent cast. Brilliantly written scripts produced by an amazingly talented crew.

Angel - My affection for Angel lies mostly in its excellent characters. They are troubled and complex while also being heroic. This show also moves me with its view on humanity (which I share,) that while it is deeply flawed it is still worth fighting for. Not to mention the fact that its brilliantly written and bring me to tears or make me laugh out loud.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - What can I say that hasn't already been said about the culturally significance of Buffy in relations to feminism, teen shows, horror and TV in general? During its seven year run this show proved to be one of the most diverse and influential shows of its time.

Firefly - Despite only running for 14 episodes (and a feature film) Firefly gave us a brief view into one of the most original and intriguing science fiction universes created in a long while. This sci-fi/western was mis-managed by Fox, but after watching the DVD I thought this was a fantastic show with so much more to give.

Veronica Mars - Teenage girl... private investigator. I know it sounds dumb, but this show will go down as a short lived cult-classic. For those of us who gave it a chance saw that it was one of the best written and acted shows on television. Kristen Bell is without a doubt one of my favourite TV leads of all time. This show could be funny, tragic and highly entertaining. While the third season didn't quite maintain the quality of the first two it was still very good and was in no way deserving of cancellation.

Gilmore Girls - Despite being kind of girlie, this show possessed and incredible wit while also carrying a deep understanding of the ways we relate to each other. On closer inspection one can look to Gilmore Girls to see how poorly we often communicate to each other (particularly shown in Lorelei's relationship with her parents) we don't always say what we mean and other people don't always hear what we say. Besides that Lauren Graham was always brilliant and this show had some of best and funniest dialogue I have ever heard. Entertaining and ful of heart. The final season sucked - I don't acknowledge it.

ER - Okay so it may not be as good as it used to be but I still love it. I have no complaints about the first 11 seasons. This show has proven to be an incredible challenging and bold series given the issues it has tackled over the course of its run. It has also provided an array of excellent characters who provide the heart of the show. This show has had countless outstanding moments that I will never forget as well as characters who have earned themselves a place in my heart.

Hey, djmmuir, that is a coincidence. I also like Journeyman and Jerico I just didn't have room to add them since it said top 5-15. At least we wouldn't be fighting over the remote. Well, except for The Closer and NCIS. I bet you liked Quatum Leap.

Veronica Mars - Witty one-liners from a teen private investigator. Ask anybody that's watched it... one of the best TV shows of all time with amazing writing and acting. Kristen Bell fit the role perfectly. Short-lived series that didn't deserve to be canceled.

Supernatural - The struggles of two brothers going out into the world fighting each and every demon that crosses their path. Fantastic mix of comedy and drama in one show. Just an overall good show, with a deeper meaning than meets the eye.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - A great show that uses Buffy, a high school student, slaying vampries as a metaphor for the struggles other high-schoolers go through. Perfect combination of vampires, relationships, comedy(at times), and sarcastic one liners. This show will go down in history.

Smallville - The quality of this show has decreased over time, but still impresses me. Clark Kent growing up as high school student and then progressing with his life, trying to balance out his gift with his family and friends, saving the town from bad guys, trying not to get killed. Great Superman show that just plain entertains me.

Chuck - New show this fall about a guy named Chuck that gets an e-mail from a friend that when Chuck opens it, gets the whole world in his head. Chuck then has to deal with keeping the intersect(world in his head) and maintaining his relationships with his family and friends. The comical relief of this shows makes it all the wonders with a mix of action and seriousness when needed too. I highly recommend this show.

Dexter - You just gotta love him ( i also like the idea on how the bad guy is the hero)
Entourage - the addictive story line
Prison Break - i love it because of its fast-paced gripping, suspense, kick ass story line.
Californication - David Duchovny's performance blew me away, and i also love the story line.
Life - Love the story line and there is a complete different story in each episode.
Las Vegas - you gotta love James Caan.
    24 - Its so fast-paced
The Sopranos - whats not to love about that show 10/10

    1. Degrassi TNG- Good teen drama show. I can really relate and its funny when its convenient.
    2. Law and Order: SVU- Idk, but i really get into the storylines on that show and something about its so addicting. And the actors are good.
3.Grey's anatomy- I like how the characters all have their own personalities. And its also just strangley addicting.
    4. Private Practice- I havent seen this show in a while, but its noe of the only good spinoffs out there.
    5. I'll say LOST before it got weird. I think I'll give it another chance soon, if its possible to get back on track, but it one of my first real drama shows i ever really watched.

    Mine would be:

Lost - the most compelling tv show I have ever seen. Period.
Prison Break - you gotta love Michael and Lincoln!
Jericho - realistic, gritty and intense.
Invasion - because we need more Sci-Fi drama like this!
Chuck (more of a dramedy, but whatever) - totally fell in love with the lead character and his chums.
Moonlight - normally not a real fan of the vampire genre but this just hooked me right in.
Gossip Girl - addictive because of the shiny and well thought-out plotlines.
24 - actionactionaction. Needs to up the drama factor more though.

"24": 5 of the best seasons on TV, and although season 6 didn't impress, the show does deserve a spot.

"Skins": An excellent British teen drama.

"Grey's Anatomy": The best medical show on TV.

"Lost": Has its up's and down's, but overall very well writing.

"Veronica Mars": One of the smartest shows ever.

Honorable Mentions: "Nip/Tuck" (despite it's crappy fifth season), "Desperate Housewives", "Brothers & Sisters" and "Friday Night Lights".

Firefly- Classic Sci-Fi that ended way before It's time.

Battlestar Galactica (2003)- One of the best dramas ever made, IMO. I barely classify this as Sci-Fi, because it is so Dramatic that it can make you forget that they're flying through space trying to get to Earth.

Heroes- Good character drama with lots of twists and turns. Some of the powers are interesting instead of just having the basics and I like that.

Smallville- Sometimes it's a bit cheesy, and lately the show has been going downhill but I still love it. The last few episodes have been good, especially Descent.

Dexter- Taking a step away from the Sci-Fi/Dramas here. Dexter is one of the best TV shows out there ATM, and is over all just a fantastic show. The plot is great, and despite that Dex is a Serial Killer, you root for him to kill his prey and not get caught.

That's my top 5 I guess. Not in any particular order mind you, just some of my personal faves.

    1. Gilmore Girls ( I remember when I first watched it, I thought it was a lame women show. Later I realised that it was so much different and since then I watch every episode. However the last 2 seasons weren't as brilliant as the ones before I still liked it and still it was one of the best shows ever seen )

    2. Lost ( Watched the pilot 3 weeks ago and I got addicted. It's a good serie, with a perfect cast. )

    3. One Tree Hill ( The perfect teen drama serie. The quaility of the serie never realy went down and stayed higth ) .

    4. Grey's Anatomy ( The fun, the stories and the very good acting Sandra Oh , a perfect serie for the tuesday evening )

    5. The OC ( Season 1 and 2 were brilliant. Seasons 3 was a bit lesser and season 4 was fun, fun , fun and not to much drama ).

    6. Medium ( I can see dead people....the family life is brilliant )

    7. Dawson's Creek ( Liked every episode of it. I love Katie Holmes )

    8. Gossip Girl ( Nice actors, nice storie, but they are to much made, no nature )

    9. Heroes

    10. Ghost Whisperer/Desperate housewives/Mc Leod's Daugthers
