Birth Name:
Eduardo Gori Guerrero Llanes
AKA:
Eddie Guerrero, Latino Heat, Eddy Guerrero, Black Tiger II, Máscara Mágica, El Caliente, Máscara Mágica
"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero came a long way before becoming a WWE Superstar. Was trained with his family, the legendary Guerrero family. His father, Gory, wrestled with El Santo in Mexico, who is like Hogan in America.

Eddie broke into wrestling in the late 80s wrestling for independents and going international. Wrestled as the "Black Tiger" in Japan, and as "Mascara Magica" in

Mexico. Guerrero and Chris Benoit would usually tour Japan and Mexico together, and these guys today are the very best in the business. Teamed with Art Barr, where both of

More them came up with the frog splash. But Barr died soon cause of drugs, and Guerrero dedicated his career to him, and uses the frog splash as a tribute.

Eddie went to ECW were he wrestled with and against Dean Malenko, the matches are now referred as the Malenko-Guerrero cs. Soon WCW signed Guerrero, Malenko, and Benoit in late 1995.

He arrived in WCW as a face, really didn't do much, other than carrying other wrestlers to good or even great matches. He won the WCW United States title in late 1996; wrestling Syxx in a great ladder match at the first Souled Out. Eddie kept the belt until losing to Malenko in another technical c in March of 1997 at Uncensored 97.

Thereafter, didn't really do much for a couple of months until he became a full-fledge heel/rudo, completely dominating the cruiserweight division. He then wrestled with Rey Mysterio Jr. at Hallowen Havoc 97, in what would go down as the best match Guerrero and Mysterio had ever been, up to that point. The match was a ***** c, with innovating spots, great wrestling; the match going down in history as one of the greatest matches of all time. Again he feuded with Mysterio for a short time, but really didn't do much because of WCW politics.

Finally in the Summer of 98, he started a gimmick with other hispanic wrestlers. Guerrero and his faction called themselves "Latino World Order", it worked for a while, but a this point Guerrero was really hooked into drugs. On New Years Day 1999, Eddie was in a terrible car accident. He broke ribs and damaged organs (especially the liver). Doctors didn't think he was going to make it: But he came back in 7 months and started a gimmick with Malenko, and Saturn, know as the the Revolution. Soon thereafter, Malenko, Guerrero, Benoit, and Saturn ask for their release from WCW.

As a result all four guys went to WWE, and they were dubbed the Radicalz. They were an instant success, their debut was memorable with all 4 guys hitting their moves on the New Age Outlaws. When Guerrero went to hit his frog splash,

dislocated his elbow, and was out for 6 weeks.

Even though he was injured, he still got to build his character on tv. He became a stereotypical hispanic guy, who was overtop intense and funny. He instantly got over with the crowd. Then they paired him up with Chyna, and he won the European title. Guerrero was now one of the most popular guys on tv.

He eventually ended up on Smackdown, becoming the first WWE United States Champion, and tagging with his nephew Chavo; winning the WWE Tag Titles numerous times.

2004 was Eddie Guerrero's year. Eddie won the second Royal Rumble of the year, earning a WWE Championship Match at no Way Out, facing Brock Lesnar. In a 30-minute titanic battle, Eddie won with a tornado DDT to the belt, and then his famous Frog Splash. At Wrestlemania XX, with Kurt Angle in great form, Eddie defeated the olympic champion after a brilliant match.

He was found dead in a hotel room, on November 13th 2005, tragically because that night he was supposed to have a triple threat match for World Heavyweight Championship with then champion Dave Batista and Randy Orton, and due to the fact Batista was injured there was almost a guarenteed fact that there was going to be a new World Champion and that man was most likely Eddie Guerrero!! R.I.P. Latino Heat!!!

With his father the great Gory Guerrero and his brothers Chavo, Mando and Hector Guerrero and his nephew WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero Jr. Eddie was a great man he had to face his demons in drugs and alcohol. WCW never gave Eddie or any other cruiserweight a chance for the big time. Eddie in The WWE rose to stardom with his Latino Heat gimmick. One of the best Latino wrestlers of all time hide show

Eddie has wrestled in many promotions. Three of the biggest being ECW, WCW and WWE.

The one thing I liked about Eddie is the way he performed in the ring as well as the character he played in the WWE. Lying, cheating and stealing. Man, I loved that. And to think, this was the WWE's attempt to make him a heel, but despite that, fans still loved him cause all of his stunts were hilarious as ever.

Sadly, the WWE and fans lost him last November. Eddie Guerrero will truly be missed by his family, friends from the locker room and fans in general.

Eddie Guerrero (1967 - 2005). Thank you, Eddie. You've done us proud.

Remembering Eddie one year later and always. hide show

One year after his death this great man. Yeah it's one year ago that Eddie passed. The WWE has rebounded, but really Eddie's presence is undeniable and the WWE could certainly use him. I absolutely despite the way the WWE has shamelessly exploitated his death to promote storylines with Randy Orton, Rey and Chavo but it's too be expected. Even TNA wouldn't go this route.

With that said, anybody who is a Eddie fan needs to remember what he did. Watch his matches all over again. I laugh at all the WWE fans who think they know Eddie, but haven't seen his work outside of the WWE (AAA, WCW, ECW).

My favorite times with Eddie are the classic lines like "Latino Heat", and "I lie, I cheat and I steal", but the true testament is the reaction of the fans. He had great matches with Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko and Art Barr (Love Machine in Mexico) to name a few. I can honestly say that perhaps he made them better. In Art's case after he died, Eddie adopted the frog splash as his finisher. Then comes the classic matches with and against Chavo. I would seriously urge any Eddie fan to track down every Eddie match out there and really pay tribute him because his impact is still felt today. Unlike other stars that are simply overrated and lack the wrestling skill.

Then of course finally at the end Eddie was rewarded for all his hard work by defeating the overrated Brock Lesnar for the title at No Way Out. WWE fans have to realize that if Eddie hadn't died, he would more title reigns. Eddie had it all, and unfortunately years of abuse on his own body robbed us of more great years with him. As the saying says though, it's how a man dies that matters , it's how he lived and Eddie lived life to the fullest potential imaginable. Viva La Raza!!!!!!

Eddie Guerero is definently an all-time great in any wrestling brand or fan. hide show

My favorite wrestler of all on the WWE was Eddie Guerero. At first, I didnt know who he was. Then I had seen my first wrestling match on there and it was him, I belive he was wrestling JBL for the championship, not for sure though. Anyway, I liked him really when I seen him do his little strut to the wrestling move, "the what ca ma call it", sorry, cant remember. Also, I would always like to see him drive in with one of his hotrods and put it in hydrolix. I said riding the Family name becuase he has a whole line of wrestlers in his family, including Chavo Guerero, and he kept that legacy alive up to this day, and he wasnt a fake wrestler truly, as he won ships all over the place in hgih school real wrestling. So he will definintly be remember under the name Guerero, and for his endurance in wrestling.
