"Never try eating nectarines since juice may dispense" is the phrase Tom and Joan Bradford use to remember the names of their children: Nicholas, Tommy, Elizabeth, Nancy, Susan, Joanie, Mary, and David. David moves out of the Bradford house when he gets tired of fighting with his Dad. The youngest Bradford children fight over his bedroom, and Tom learns the importance of having a family relationship.
