Welcome back, Katie Holmes. You've been missed. hide show

Considering how long she's been away, Katie Holmes took to the series in an excellent way. Having her be graceful in the vision dance sequence was a fun intro to her true klutzy self. It was wonderful seeing her and Eli talking, just gelling naturally and the twist of his dad seeing it all was interesting. The final scene at the airport was heartfelt and you can hope she makes a return down the road as the two really do connect well, so much alike.

For the main case, it was a nice turn on the usual military-themed cases and you can tell Eli's problems handling father-son issues came into play. HIs guilt over causing a marriage to break up made sense and I enjoyed how he just told the whole office his anyersum was back rather than drag it into hiding all over again.

Also great was the Jordan subplot as Garber just wonderfully showed how Jordan is so much happier now than when the series started, changed by Eli's moves. He did a great job when he found his partners, the two friends he started this firm with and who he thought had his back, were trying to stop him just to keep onto their money-making ways. I can't wait to see this develop as this season promises some very interesting developments.
