In her twilight, the aging Queen Elizabeth grants favors to the young and dashing Earl of Essex, who betrays his monarch and attempts to take over the state. His rebellion fails and he is executed. Elizabeth, now bereft of all her former councillors and friends, dies alone.

Borderline acceptable. How far down has television sunk to these days. Not to disrespect the creators of Elizabeth R but I guess it's simply the trend of tv these days (nothing good on.) Time poorly wasted.This show is not nice, but the borderline of the story is acceptable. Elizabeth R
