Black market dealer Brennen kidnaps Michael's brother Nate in order to use Michael for a job, while Michael still has to deal with Detective Paxson's investigations.
Read Full Recap » (warning: possible spoilers!).. I like this episode. It's fun when they bring back some evil recurring to shake things up a bit.
Since Carla was written off last season, I thought burn notice could use a new main villain. The detective is more annoying than scary. Not to mention, her character layout seems a lot like Bly. Someone who just comes into Mike's life, cause some mayhem but ends up as an asset.
Brennen is smart and cruel. If he had become ruthless and killed Nate... hmm, the possibities would be amazing.
Michael wanting revenge and going almost berserk. Sam trying to back up his friend while Fionna struggled to keep Mike's feet on the ground.. and alive...
Anyways, just some ideas. The way the show is moving is as good as always. Can't complain..
Cheers!
Even when the case is not one of my favorites, I just love this show. I love all the explanations Michael gives when he's making something up or when he comes up with something to save his life.
Too bad Nate is not as successful as Michael and too bad he was used by this maniac to get to his brother. Madeline is terrific and she just can't be fooled, she knew they were in trouble but only wanted to have the whole family together in the end.
I wonder what happened to Michael's father... I love Fiona and her excitement when she has to blow up something.
Although it is only the 3rd episode in this season. It was the best so far and a hell of an episode!. Brennan is back again to get Michael to do some dirty work for him in order to keep Mike's brother, Nate, alive. A brilliant scene in this episode was when Michael needs to get a man to say many numbers and also his name in order to create a voice code to enter this room later on in the episode. This scene is very clever and comedic. Don't miss out
The episode has a good ending as well and this episode overall will keep you interested the whole time.
Well done! 10/10
Finally, Burn Notice delivers us a really good season three episode. They deemphasized the comedy and put the focus on some great action scenes and an intense movie-quality confrontation at the end between Michael and the arms dealer. This show can be so brilliant at times and this episode is living proof of that.
Moon Bloodgood's character Michelle Paxton is starting to grow on me as well and she might even be enjoyable as Carla, played by Tricia Helfer, was last season. Her line of, "I can give as good as I get!" before storming out of Michael's apartment was such a great way to end the show.
While I liked how the comedy was deemphasized, I did not want it completely absent as this episode really could have used some funny Sam Axe lines, and an interesting storyline with Madeline, but that is one of the few faults I can find here. Another strong offering from Burn Notice and probably the best episode of TV this week.
In Episode 3, "End Run," Michael is fighting a war on two fronts. Det. Paxson is still prying and an arms dealer named Brennen, runs Michael through a series of obstacles to save his brother Nate's life. hide show
The plot is a good one. Nate is lured into a business deal with Brennan and a Sicilian enforcer called "The Butcher." They use Nate's life as leverage to force Michael into retrieving a biometric lock for advanced military weapons. Michael has no choice, but with Paxson watching his every move, it is not going to be easy to stay under her radar. Barry the money launderer is unwillingly dragged into the battle, mainly to keep Det. Paxson from prying into his line of work. With his help, a dummy company is developed with someone in the Mayor's office with Michael as co-owner.. The investigation into its legality keeps Paxson busy while Michael deals with Brennan.
Brennen is a man without a conscience and has no qualms about maiming or killing anyone who stands between him and his goal. This makes him very dangerous and Michael must use all of his skills and resources to find the chink in Brennan's armor. While retrieving the biometric lock, Michael is able to gather vital information on Brennen without his knowledge. Sam, Fi, and Barry all play a part in what turns out to be an elaborate deception to force Brennen's hand. As it turns out, Brennen does have a couple of vulnerabilities, money and his young daughter. Barry arranges a fake transfer out of Brennen's bank account. Michael finds a family photo in Brennen's house and convinces Brennen that a sniper is in place to take out his daughter. Brennen takes the bait but not before he shoots Nate in the arm to show his ruthlessness. The only thing that saves Michael and Nate is Brennen's belief that Michael is more ruthless.
Overall, this was a very good episode. The two front attack made for some suspenseful moments. Michael really had to sweat this one both literally and figuratively. Barry's character has always been enjoyable and maybe his role will become more than casual. With Det. Paxson on the warpath, Michael is going to need all the help he can get.
