Synopsis

Alex and Brodie farewell the bay for a new life. Will Rhys give Kirsty and Kane his blessing? Jade is appalled by her and Kirsty's actions.

Kane is excited about becoming a Dad, and asks Alf and Scott if the job they offered him is still available. It is and he's hired. Rhys asks Jade how she feels about Kirsty's baby having Kane as a father. Jade says she wants to get to know her neice or nephew, and if that means accepting Kane then she will. Rhys asks her to tell Kirsty and Kane he wants to see them. He and Dani go over to Irene's and tell Kirsty and Kane that he's decided not to have the marriage annulled, and that Kirsty is always welcome at home. She asks about Kane and Rhys tells her "one step at a time". Kane is thrilled that things seem to be coming together but Kirsty knows it's only happening becuase of the 'baby'.

Dani visits Hayley and gently fills her in one some of the changes in the Bay in the year she can't recall. Brodie and Alex come to the hospital to say goodbye, and intend to tell Hayley the truth. Dani tells them Hayley isn't up to it. With everythin that's happened, she seems to be hanging everything on Alex and Brodie getting married. They go in to see her but Brodie stops Alex from telling her the truth and shattering her illusions. Instead they tell her they are going away for a while before they get married. Hayley tells them that looking at them makes her believe that things can work out. Hayley quizzes Noah about the accident and asks if things were ok between them before it as she can't remember. He tells her he loves her more than ever.

Helen is rude to Brodie and upset to discover Alex and Brodie are engaged. As the Poulos's prepare for Alex and Brodie's farewell meal, Jesse and Brodie are glad to see Alex, Leah, Chris and Theo joking and laughing in the kitchen...but it all goes silent when Helen walks in. Alex goes outside with her to try to convince her he's doing the right thing. She gives in and agrees. Meanwhile, Jesse tells Theo he's sorry for upsetting Helen and Theo says he can see how much Jesse cares about Leah. At dinner, the Poulos's welcome Brodie to the family.

Next morning Brodie and Dani clear the air and say goodbye, and Brodie and Alex give Dani a letter to give to Hayley when she's doing better. As Helen, Theo and Chris leave, Brodie and Alex also say their goodbyes to the family and leave Summer Bay.

A nurse comes in to change Hayley's dressings. She pleads for a mirror and is devastated by her reflection.

Jade calls in on Kirsty before school, catches her taking the pill, and realises that must mean she's not pregnant. Kirsty tells her the whole truth and begs her not to tell anyone else.
