Feeling left out when he thinks that his father selectively asked his brother to join a Civil War re-enactment, Ray voluntarily enlists for the Battle of Gettysburg. As the men prepare for battle, a funny thing happens and Ray is finally able to tell Frank that he wishes they did more together. So, although Frank's on the side of the North and Raymond's on the side of the South, the Barone soldiers are able to put their political differences aside and share much more than a Civil War handshake.

Harry, Frank's friend, calls himself Jeb (presumably a reference to the Confederate General Jeb Stuart), but Harry is clearly a Yankee.

Ray: I can't believe you shot me Robert. I have to lay here all day?

Robert: His wife's pregnant. (edit) Ray: All right, kids, now remember we're going to the Happy Zone when I get home, okay?
Ally: I hope you win, Daddy!
Robert: Don't bet on it, kid. (edit) Frank: Oh, Ray come here and help me with these boots. They're killing me. Oh, what's it say on the right boot?

Frank: Oh, crap, what's it say on the left boot?
Ray: Guess! (edit) Frank: That is what the Civil War is all about. Families coming together...
Ray: To kill other families. (edit) Ray: Frankly, my dear .. I don't give a damn.
Debra: Idiots. (edit)
