Ray comes home to see Debra on the phone with psychologist Dr. Nora. She then turns on the radio and they hear the conversation Debra just had with Dr. Nora. Debra then receives a phone call from Dr. Nora, who wants to interview Debra for her book. Debra tells Ray that he has to be on his best behavior when she comes.

Dr. Nora arrives and Debra is nervous. She puts the kids to bed, leaving Dr. Nora and Ray alone. Dr. Nora asks Ray a question and she wants to quote his answer in her book. Ray's parents come by and Marie talks about how much Dr. Nora has helped her. Frank and Marie start arguing in front of Dr. Nora, who just sits there taking notes. Robert comes in and Dr. Nora wants the entire family to stay around. While Debra is talking, Dr. Nora ignores her to observe Robert's eating habits.

Debra is upset because Dr. Nora wasn't as interested in her as she was in the rest of Ray's family. Debra said she put on an act because she's boring. The next day Frank, Marie and Robert come over to cheer Debra up and make her feel like she's interesting. Debra loses it and begins imitating the three. That night, Ray is finally able to convince Debra she's weird by saying no normal person would put up with his family for as long as she has.
