Frank and Marie are bickering when Ray walks in. Ray tells them that Debra's parents are coming into town over the weekend. Frank and Marie don't like Debra's parents because they brag about the fancy trips they go on and the expensive art they buy.

Days later, Debra's parent's arrive. Ray gets caught trying to zip up his pants, but he makes it into a funny joke. Frank and Marie come over as well. Marie gives Lois a box of chocolates as a gift. Debra's parents tell everyone they're going to Vietnam. They also begin talking about the fancy shows they've seen. Ray makes fun of them for going to see a show where people bang on trashcans and Debra tells him to stop. Lois invites everyone to have dinner at Le Bernadus: a four-star french restaurant.

At the restaurant, Frank and Marie are shocked at how fancy the place is. Robert is afraid of the waiters because they make him uncomfortable. When they sit down, Marie thinks she has too many plates and too much silverware, so she gives some of it to the waiter. The waiter brings out some bread and Frank demands rye.

Frank and Marie discover that the meals are very expensive, and think Warren and Lois are being ripped off. The two sets of parents begin arguing with each other and Ray butts in. He defends his parents by yelling at Warren and Lois, which surprises everyone.

Later, Frank and Marie are mad at Ray for being rude to his in-laws. They say they raised him better than that and he shouldn't have talked bad about the Whalens to their face. He goes back to his house and faces an angry Debra. He apologizes and say's he'll call her parents and apologize to them too.
