Ray's watching football when Marie and Ally come in. Marie is upset when Ally decides to quit her piano lessons. Ally doesn't want to take piano because it's boring.

Ray thinks Ally should keep taking lessons because he thinks people shouldn't be quitters. Ray tries to get Ally to continue her lessons, and they find out Ray took lessons as a kid. Ally asks if he quit, and since he did that makes him feel guilty for being mad a Ally for quitting. Debra suggests that Ray takes piano lessons from Marie to set an example for Ally.

Ray goes over his parent's house and asks Marie for a piano lesson. Marie goes on a tirade until she realizes Ray is serious. Ray can't remember anything he learned so Marie keeps pulling out easier books. She gets upset because she thinks Ray wasted his talent. Frank comes in and Ray wonders why he never encouraged him during his piano lessons as a child.

Frank says he thinks the piano is stupid, and that's why he got Ray involved in sports. When Ray apologizes to Maire, and she says she hates sports. Ray thinks he quit because of his dad. Marie tells Ray that he liked the idea of piano, but he wanted to be with his friends instead. Ray still decides to take piano lesson for Ally.

Ray plays the piano fo for the entire family. His performance is good, but Ally still doesn't want to learn piano.
