Frank: What's that sound?
Robert: It's like... rattling.
Frank: I know it's rattling, Columbo! Where's it comin' from?
Marie: Where your heart should be. (edit) Marie: Frank, put on the heat. It's freezing!
Frank: It's too expensive.
Marie: What's with you? We all have to get pneumonia so you can save three cents?!
Frank: You know Marie, most of the body's heat escapes through the head, so you might wanna seal up any lodged openings! (edit) (Marie starts hugging Frank while he is sitting down)
Frank: Whoa! What are you doing?
Marie: Snuggling. For body warmth.
Frank: Puttin' on the heat! (edit)

The song playing in the background at Ray's party (in the flashback) is "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
(edit)
This episode's lunch special is fried fish and french fries (or fish and chips).
(edit)
The engraved toaster from the Christmas episode "The Toaster" is on the counter behind Marie while she is icing the chocolate cake, so she and Frank must have been able to convince the police that it was their toaster and to let them keep it.
(edit)
Liar, liar, pants on fire!: A childhood rant/retort which children often say to those who are not telling the truth.
