Ray and Debra are talking when Frank and Marie come in. Frank tells Ray he's selling his old Plymouth Valiant for $800. Ray wants to buy the car, but Debra doesn't. Frank, Ray and Debra haggle and eventually Ray buys the car for $462.25. Later, Ray comes home to an empty house. Debra comes in with the kids and tells Ray the car broke down. She decides to go over to Frank and Marie's to get their money back.

Frank bought a bread machine with the car money and is racing against Marie, who's making bread by hand. Debra asks for the money back, and Marie thinks she's being ungrateful. Robert walks in on their conversation. He mentions the Valiant was Ray's old makeout mobile with Lisa Constantine. While Ray is polishing the car Debra confronts him about Lisa. Rays says the car was about more than her; it was his way of escaping from his parents.

Debra straps the kids in the car and looks in the front seat. She daydreams that a young Ray and Lisa Constantine are making out. She goes and tells Ray that she can't drive the car anymore. Ray is in the car and he daydreams about Lisa. Debra catches him and Ray says he'll get rid of the car for her.
