In 2002 Ewan was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the movie Moulin Rouge. The category was Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role-Musical or Comedy. (edit) Ewan has been nominated for two SAG awards. In 1999 he was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture for Little Voice. In 2002 he was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture for Moulin Rouge. (edit) In 2008, Ewan promoted a male fragrance for "Davidoff", called Adventure, and he Japan he appeared in ads for Toyota's Grand Suite New Alphard. (edit) Ewan has won two Scottish BAFTAs: one in 2004 for Best Actor in a Scottish Film (Young Adam) and one in 1997 for Best Actor in a Film (Trainspotting). Ewan: Not being killed when I was rear-ended in a crash on a Canadian tarmac highway after getting all the way from London to Canada without a road accident. (edit) Ewan: I’ve found ways to cheat the ageing process. I shave my chest because having it hairy makes me look older. (edit) Ewan: (revealing that when he's home in Scotland, people can't resist having a go at him) Why do they feel the need to tell me, 'That film was shit'. It happens quite a lot. I was with my mum and daughter when this guy walks over to say, 'You're not as good as Alec Guinness' (Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars films before Ewan). I felt really pissed off. (edit) Ewan: On-screen nudity is something we take too lightly with young actresses. Getting 18-year-old girls to be naked and have sex in a movie is possibly damaging to their development. But, at the same time, I'm up for nudity. (edit) Ewan McGregor: I've been waiting nearly twenty years to have my own light saber. Nothing's cooler than being a Jedi Knight. (edit)
