A handsome and wealthy businessman, Bill Davis (Gary Cole, The Brady Bunch movies, Office Space) has a high-powered career, a stunning penthouse on Central Park East, a succession of beautiful women and a dignified old-school British butler, Mr. French (Tim Curry, Charlie's Angel's), to make sure his life runs according to plan. Bill's life of blissful bachelorhood was years in the making, but it is destroyed in a single day with the arrival of two 6-year-old twins and their 14-year-old sister. From 1966 to 1971, Family Affair was a heartwarming family comedy that shaped television history. Blending the same comical dilemmas and heartfelt family values that made the original show a hit, "Family Affair" has been rejuvenated and fast-forwarded to the current day with The WB's unique flair.

While Uncle Bill and Mr. French struggle to accept the fact that their dream lifestyle has taken this rather nightmarish turn, the children have their own adjustments to make. Six-year-olds Buffy (Sasha Pieterse) and Jody (Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak), along with their teenage sister Sissy (Caitlin Wachs, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood) find the move from small-town Indiana to New York City exhilarating and daunting at the same time. The Midwest neighborhood where the children used to play has been replaced by a terrace with sweeping views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. Instead of the more traditional nuclear family that used to include their aunt and uncle as surrogate parents, the orphaned siblings now must look to their well-meaning but totally unprepared bachelor uncle and his bewildered butler-turned-nanny to guide them through the changes in their young lives.

Though he wants only the best for his nieces and nephew, Bill was extremely content with a life free from emotional entanglements. With the freedom to date one beautiful woman after another, money to travel whenever and wherever he pleased and Mr. French to take care of every meticulous detail of his home life, Bill has never needed a wife, let alone children. For the elegant Mr. French, the very thought of rambunctious youngsters manhandling anything in his meticulously ordered apartment is horrifying, to say the least.

Buffy and Jody, along with Buffy's beloved doll, Mrs. Beasley, approach each new situation with wide-eyed curiosity and good humor, but for teenaged Sissy, life in New York seems almost too good to be true. She is so thrilled by Manhattan's round-the-clock energy that she never pauses to realize how inexperienced and vulnerable she really is.

  just wondering if this show will be on dvd.I do have the original show (1966) on dvd i always enjoyed it and i do enjoy this one too. so i like to know if they are ever going to put it on Dvd?
