The episode makes several references to September 11th. Seth MacFarlane was actually scheduled to be on American Airlines Flight 11 that day, but due to a mix-up with his travel agent, he missed the plane. (edit) This is the first episode that was aired by FOX without final approval from Seth MacFarlane, who at the time was on strike with the Writers Guild of America. (edit) The title of this episode is Spanish for "Family Father", or "Parent". This is gramatically odd however, and should be "Padre de la Familia", meaning "Father of the Family". (edit)
