When Lois goes in looking for Stewie, Peter ties a rope around her so they don't lose her, but when she finds Stewie and they exit out of Meg's ass, Lois has no rope around her. (edit) Several bits of Jerry Goldsmith's original score for "Poltergeist" are used in this episode and match up to where the piece was used in the original film, i.e., when Stewie gets out of his crib to go to the TV and the whispering scene between Lois and the medium. The music in the closing credits of this episode is an obvious parody of Goldsmith's "Carol Anne's Theme", a similar piece of music that runs over the closing credits of "Poltergeist". (edit) The author of "A Guild to the Occult" is Beverly Cleary. Cleary is the same author of the Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, and Ralph S. Mouse book series. (edit)

When Stewie is speaking through the television set on "the other side", he starts to sing the hit song, In the Air Tonight by solo artist and former member of Genesis, Phil Collins. He makes use of the unique vocal effects which sound exactly like the song's beginning and even attempts to emulate the drumming sounds from the song. (edit)
