Peter and Lois have three kids - the youngest is a brilliant, sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and world domination. Chris, like his father, is obese, has a low IQ and no common sense. Meg desperately tries to be part of the popular crowd, and is coldly rebuffed. Their talking dog Brian keeps baby Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting out his own life issues. After being canceled in 2002, having an outstanding performance in DVD sales and syndication ratings that beat late-night talk shows, its cult status reached great heights. As a result, the series was added back to the FOX Summer 2005 line-up. Family Guy returned to the small screen with new episodes on Sunday, May 1st, 2005.   One word: boring... hide « show »

  the title of this review says what I think. It says it all: the show is really boring and I freakin hate it. I have never seen such a ridiculous show (except for American Dad) in my entire life. It sucks so bad and I dont even know why people like it. It needs to be called off. The show ripped the Simpsons off, the Simpsons is a great show, but Family Guy isnt. All the jokes are so bad and un funny. I find every situation absurd and suckish. Family Guy is the piece of crap must seen on TV, but it should end!

  It seems today, that all you see, is violence in movies and sex on tv! Buy where are those good old fashion values? On which we used to rely!!!! Lucky there's a Family Guy! Lucky theres a man who,

  I have to admit.. Family Guy is inapporiate sumtimes but overall it is so so so funny!! love it espeically the song, " even though it did rip The Simpsons off and it is starting to jump the shark. This show and The Simpsons are the only good Fox comedy cartoons left. If Family Guy gets so nonsensical that I hate it or the Simpsons end, I will stop looking at Fox cartoons.

  Family Guy is not funny. To me. hide « show »

  I've watched a few episodes of this show. I've watched old episodes, I've watched new episodes, I've watched the most recommended episodes, and I even watched the least recommended episode, and it still gets to me- why do people find this show funny? I can't remember a single time I laughed at a joke in this show. I sometimes smiled, mostly just rolled my eyes. Family Guy seems to base its humor on the concept of "People laugh at nostalgia and long, uneasy moments" and that's basically it. every joke is either completely irrelevant, or just a stretching moment which made me feel obliged to laugh, even though I didn't find it funny. The plot seems to be the entire concept of The Simpsons, but without the charming characters and depth, and the plot is build of The Simpsons concept too- one thing lead to a bunch of completely different things. I'm sorry if you don't agree and if you like this show, I just have some hard time understanding why.

  ...and it could be better. Some of the things that happen in this show are funny, and most have potential. But some of the things that happen (such as obvious inhumane acts against people and animals who are undeserving of that treatment) are completely out of place and innapropriate.
  
  What bothers me most is the way they fill so much time with stupid flashbacks and annoyingly long songs that nobody in modern society listens to.
  
  Something else that bothers me is how often they make fun of other TV shows, music, people, movies, and life in general. While most if it is undoubtedly funny (and true!) I don't care much to watch a recap of the News on a cartoon. I'd much rather watch something to take my mind OFF of it!

  Fantastic show, however the later seasons are not as good as previous seasons. hide « show »

  The first five seasons of Family Guy are hilarious. But as the seasons go on, I am finding them using the same jokes over and over again especially in this latest season.
  
  Nowadays they are choosing to go for shocks over comedy but I would still reccomend this show to anyone who enjoys a laugh.
  
  The animation is great, the jokes are funny (when not recycling jokes) and the characters are brilliant (all except the very very tiresome Mort) so this show is still worth watching. Hopefully the writers will come up with more ideas soon.
  
  The best season to watch is probably Series Five. The not to great season is Season Six (Unless you want to see Peter's privates).
  
  But no matter what I will continue to watch this show.
