- It's perhaps indicative of her true nature that despite being a priest and all for loving everyone, Zhaan never apologizes to Pilot for what she did. Of course, neither does Rygel. edit »
- This is the first mention we ever hear of the Sebacean Breakaway Colonies, Sebaceans that fled the Peacekeepers in favor of a less militaristic lifestyle. edit »
- D'Argo completes the device we first saw he was working on in "Back and Back and Back to the Future." It is a "shilo'quin," a musical instrument (which Pilot mistakes for some sort of weapon). edit »
- NamTar describes evolution as a road to perfection. Evolution technically isn't a road to perfection, unless you count it as perfection to a particular environment. edit »
- Never before or after this episode do you see a pulse pistol doing so much damage to a living being, it normally doesn't take a chunk out of you to kill you. edit »
- International Airdates:
-This episode aired in Canada on November 10, 1999 on YTV.
-This episode aired in the UK on February 14, 2000 on BBC-2.
-This episode aired in Australia on September 16, 2000 on Nine. edit » - NamTar is Rat Man backwards. edit »
- The NamTar creation was partly animatronic, including his whole head. Not only that, but Adrian Getley was on stilts for the entire time the episode was filming. The suit was so complex that they had to cut a hole out of it so he could pee! edit »
- This episode was originally entitled "Apogee". edit »
- David Kemper came up with the idea for this episode when he first saw the Pilot puppet. He asked Matt Carroll if they could cut off an arm in a story, so he would re-grow it later, and stunned he replied yeah, and the story was born. edit »
- Aeryn: This is not a Sebacean thing.
Crichton: Well, you gotta give me a clue here, Aeryn. Is this something new or is this just your usual P.M.S -- Peacekeeper Military Shi--
Aeryn: Frell you. edit » - NamTar: You are in the latter part of phase one, I suspect.
Aeryn: Phase one of what?
NamTar: Please...I don't want to ruin the surprise of phase two for you. edit » - D'Argo: You understand why I did what I did?
Pilot: Your motivations were perfectly clear.
D'Argo: And you understand that if I was faced with the same choice again, I would do exactly the same.
Pilot: I have no doubt whatsoever.... I also know that Luxans are not given to apologies. edit » - NamTar: All species are seeking perfection. That's what evolution is: the road towards perfection. How many generations of your species have lived and died to lead to you? How many will die after you? All in the name of achieving a state of perfection. edit »
- Crichton: You're a long way from perfection, NamTar.
NamTar: But nearer, possibly, than any other corporeal being has ever come! Give credit where credit is due. edit »
- Crichton: The map thing, Nam Tar's magic crystal? Well, Larry, Curly and Moe just found out they can only use one of the maps- two of them ain't going nowhere.
Larry, Curly and Moe are The Three Stooges, an extremely popular comedy act in the movies for over three decades, beginning in the thirties. edit » - Crichton: Believe it or not, we've had men like you on my planet...educated men. Men of science and medicine. Men who were searching for some self-described ideal and willing to maim and murder untold thousands to find it. There was one. His name was Mengele. To him, anyone was fair game as a subject of his experiments -- the weak...the handicapped...men...women...children...
This refers to Dr. Josef Mengele, an infamous NAZI doctor in Auschwitz. Nicknamed the Angel of Death he experimented on prisoners, as well as deciding who was to be gassed and who would live when the prisoners got off the trains. edit »
