The CW Pilots
In September 2006, TV fans will welcome a new network to the broadcast fold. The CW will be formed by a merge between The WB and UPN, and it will feature the best programming from each of the smaller networks. While we're happily awaiting the return of favorites such as Smallville, Veronica Mars, and Gilmore Girls, we're also eager to see new original programming from The CW. Here's a peek at what might show up on The CW's schedule this fall!
Runaway
Drama
Donnie Wahlberg stars as a father who, along with his entire family, becomes a fugitive to escape a murder conviction.
The Game
Comedy, Multicamera
Fans of Girlfriends will love this sassy, urban spin-off featuring a group of women dating pro football players. Steroid jokes coming right up! (By Colin Mahan)
Palm Springs

She Said, He Said

Oh, no you didn't! No really, CW, you didn't put Nick Lachey in a romantic sitcom. You did? Well, it's obvious that the CW is in good hands, creatively. (By Colin Mahan)
Split Decision
Drama
This drama explores the two possible paths a teenage girl's life could have followed--all depending on which table she chose to sit at on her first day at a new high school.
Untitled Aquaman Project
Drama
DC Comics hero Aquaman is brought to life in this small-screen series about a seemingly average young man who is, in fact, the heir to the throne of Atlantis.
Aliens in America
Comedy, Single-Camera
A Wisconsin mom arranges to host a foreign exchange student, believing the visitor will help her shy son become more popular. When the student turns out to be a Muslim teenager from Pakistan, her plans go awry--and everyone is likely to learn a little lesson about life.
Flirt

Wayne Brady stars as a single guy who happens to be the one and only man working at a women's magazine.

Palm Springs and Split Decision sound good but i heard that Split Decision wasn't picked up.

Can't wait for "Faceless"!!! Please, Fox, pick it up!
Can't wait to see "Faceless"!! Please, Fox, pick it up!

I cannot wait for Sara Gilbert's return to ABC.
The funniest comedy pilot this year for any network was 12th Man...and sadly, it didn't get picked up.
Day Break = ground hog day
Help Me Help You = already made and droped its just a rehash
October Road = just frends
Our Thirties = a rehash f thirty somthing
Traveler = buddy version of the fugitive
Let's Rob Mick Jagger = why rob him buy the way he looks it wount be long till he drops and then get your hands on his stuff
Untitled Shana Goldberg-Meehan Project = just call it twins 2
Untitled Shonda Rhimes Project not a hope
Women of a Certain Age ye like men are not going to want to date Heather Locklear.
a very dull line up forb 2006/2007
Check out Ugly Betty... I've watched the Latin American version (made in Columbia - Jo Soy Betty la Fea) a few years back and it was great. Hopefully it won't be exactly the same as the Latin one and who knows, the story might turn out to be very interesting. Looking forward to know which actress would 'sabotaged' to play Betty.
Flirt is going to be great!
but I think they need a show different of others sitcoms
and have a better story...
Aquaman
is going to be awsome, it's going to be a new 'smallville'
I think
THE CW must have big shows , because it's going to be the first season of the network and It has to be better!
Wow, i didn't realize they make so much pilots every year. About 40 of them!! And how many will survive? Maybe 5?
I think the best show in THE CW, will be AQUAMAN, SPLIT DECISION and, of course PALM SPRINGS.
So, this "Untitled Shana Goldberg-Meehan Project" is a new version of What I Like About You, right???
okay first of all, Heros with a welcome looks lame and boring!!! come on CBS you could do better then that, but edison looks worth watching, I want to be a cop and it looks like a good crime drama so I'm up for it.
dude, Nick lachey on TV is like putting prune juice in your coke its disgusting and is just not done! but runway and Flirt seem good and Heros seems like its going be awesome, I'm a big xman fan so, anything that has normal people finding out they not so normal, I watch.
Julie Reno: Bounty Hunter---I can't wait to see what Erin Daniels does with this show. I look forward to it's premiere. Lets hope Fox gives the show a chance and the resurrection of Erin from The L Word will work just fine.
Please keep Supernatural please
Please keep Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Everwood and Supernatural, please !!!!!!!!!!:)
BRING BACK BIRDS OF PREY, CW. I DO NOT SEE, HOW ANY OF THESE UPCOMING PILOTS, COULD POSSIBLY RECEIVE HIGHER RATINGS, OR BE BETTER SHOWS, THAN THE CANCELLED SERIES, BIRDS OF PREY. BIRDS, WAS SO WELL DONE. IT HAD ACTION, SUSPENCE, HUMOR, ROMANCE, AND GREAT CHEMISTRY, AMONG THE CAST. WITH ANGEL, BUFFY, AND CHARMED, NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION, BIRDS IS NOT ONLY, NEEDED BY THE AUDIENCES, OF THESE THREE SHOWS, BUT I FEEL IT'S POPULARITY, AND SUCCESS, WILL BE CERTAIN. IF THIS SHOW, GETS PICK UP, AND REPRODUCED, BY ANY OTHER NETWORK, THAT NETWORK WILL HAVE A HIT, FROM THE START, AND THIS DECISION, WILL PROVE TO BE, A WISE ONE.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith could be crap. Webber and Elfman? I don't
see that as a great combo, they can't compare to Brad and Angelina. I don't know that ABC has the best lineup and what
crack were the CW's on when they greenlight Aquaman? Aquaman
is the weakest and most laughed superhero in all of comic
book history. Hell I could write a better show idea that what
idiots have come up with. "Jericho" and "Orpheus" however on CBS sound ok.
Heroes on NBC looks interesting, sort of an "Unbreakable" TV show. Wonder who's going to be in it?
none of the CW pilots sounds like anything interesting. MAYBE split decision which comes off like a teendrama rip of the movie Sliding Doors. with the right cast it could be good. but the rest just sound blah to me. I'm not even jonesing on the Aquaman show (now called Mercy Reef). in part cause I keep hearing about recastings, new staff etc. that always seems to spell trouble.
not to toot my own horn but I worked on Daybreak and the Steinberg project pilots. and they have the potential to be fantastic. not just cause the of the awesome premise but the cast on both are terrific. of course I'm hoping they are picked up so I can see myself, but who wouldn't. LOL
Til Death, The Winner and Worst week peak my interest. Loved the latter on BBC America
nothing of interest here
The way and the Paul reiser project are the only things that catch my attention. No more reality shows PLEASE
the only thing that I see here that interests me is the untitled Patricia Heaton project
The CWs shows sound really stupid.I guess since upn and wb merged all their shows are gonna suck now? thats horrible.
Read the lead-in paragraph for the CBS pilots - is it just me or does that look like a regurgitation of the CBS press release, what with "sparkle", "great" (twice!) and "successful" (how do they know they're not going to bomb?!). If it is from the press release, tv.com shamefully failed to mention this, blurring the line between editorial and "advertorial" (ugh, horrible word)...
i am so looking forward to "the game" and "flirt" wayne brady acting is better than him doing a stupid day time talk show. i definetly wouldn't watch nikc lacheys show only the first episode to show im some sympathy i really feel for the guy.
Sounds pretty interesting... especially the new Nick Lachey show.
Pilots I want to see on the schedule:
- Jericho (CBS)
This show has a fantastic premise and a very impressive cast. I will be extremely disappointed if CBS doesnt give this a go.
- Six Degrees (ABC)
A truly original concept from television master JJ Abrams. I think this show could work well with Grey's Anatomy if it was to move to Monday nights.
- Faceless (FOX)
Great actor (Sean Bean). Great storyline.
- Heroes
This is the sort of show NBC needs to boost it back into the ratings game.
Where is the list of dates for these debuts and the returning shows for next season?
From what I've heard, the Untitled Aquaman Project is not so untitled. I've heard it's going to be called Mercy Reef.
Pink Collar looks like its going to be a really cool show, plus i love alicia silverstone - never could quite figure out why they cancelled miss match :S
My God, what a bunch of terrible shows! (Worst of all, Andy Richter is back. YEEEECCCCHHH!!) If this is what we have to look forward to in 2007, then do yourselves a favor and buy DVDs instead. You won't miss anything.
Will anything be worth watching? Unless these series get rejected by the network brass, here are the ones that look promising to me:
Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip (NBC)
Let's Rob Mick Jagger (ABC)
The Patricia Heaton Project (ABC)
60 Minute Man (ABC)
Enemies (ABC)
The Lipstick Jungle (NBC)
Prodigy/Bully (NBC)
Aquaman (CW)
That makes 8 out of about 75. Not good odds for any season.
Help me Help you! I'm a huge Becker fan!
brothers and sisters look good
They better have room for EVERWOOD!
I dont know why UPN and WB are joining forces . I hope they dont cancel shows like one on one and girlfriends because those are some of the best shows on UPN and all the other shows . If they get rid of all the UPN shows they are getiing rid of mostly all black casr shows , and you dont find that on to many networks!
From the CW, many of the shows look promising but Aquaman, Runaway and Aliens In America look the best. However, the last of those three needs a name change cause I picture green martians--the title, though catachy just doesn't work.
Only one show stands out for me as having real potential and that is Southern Comfort. And Julie Rneo: Bounty Hunter might be good too.
Yikes, NBC looks like it's going to fall even farther down in the ratings with this sad bunch of pilots. The only sure hit among them is The Black Donnellys (it's the only one I want to watch out of all these). Community Service and Heroes look okay but the first one should definitly get a name change.
I am definitly gonna watch Jericho and The Way. Both seem like awesome shows and I hope CBS chooses to go with them next season.
Other than those two, some shows I may or may not watch depending upon what else is on. Those shows are The Big Bang Theory, The Class, In the Shadow of the Law, Inseperable, Orpheus, Play Nice,
and Waterfront.
I just posted but I forgot to say that A House Divided, Ugly Betty and the untitles Shana Goldman project could be good too. They're runners-up for October Road and the Shonda Rimes project.
There are only two on the ABC list of pilots that I want to definitly check out. The first is October Road and the second is the Shonda Rimes project. I like the description--four female journalists making reports across the globe--so much potential I really hope the network committs to it.
PLEASE ALL NETWORKS-no more lawyer shows or cop shows, they're going way out of style.
Palm Springs looks like a good show, and so does Raines! I can't wait for the pilots.
