Why are dramas up against comedies on the dumb lists, unfair!

    Jan 04, 2012
  • TrevPlatt

I missed it, but these are my votes:

Best Overall Series of 2011: COMMUNITY (have to go with the majority on this one, it was genius.)

Best New Series: HOMELAND (Game Of Thrones was also excellent. Why the hell is Up All Night on the list?)

Best Drama: GAME OF THRONES (why wasn't Homeland an option for this one?)

Best Comedy: COMMUNITY (huge suprise. Raising Hope and The Big Bang Theory were also excellent.)

Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy: ALPHAS (where the hell is Fringe???? Supernatural and Vamp. Diaries were also excellent.)

Best Animated Show: ARCHER (and then South Park, both are considerably better than the rest.)

Best Crime Procedural: CASTLE (although I would have picked Rookie Blue had it been an option, which it deserved to be.)

Best Reality Competition Series: NONE (hate them all.)

    Best Variety Show: JOHN STEWART

Most Underrated Show: COMMUNITY (Alphas, Awkward, The League are good shouts, as Rookie Blue would have been, apparently.)

Favorite Guilty Pleasure: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS or HART OF DIXIE (your choices are terrible.)

Best Teen Series for Grown-Ups: VAMPIRE DIARIES (but Awkward has to be a close second, Pretty Little Liars and One Tree Hill are pretty good too.)

Most Exciting Cast Addition: John Goodman as Vice Dean Laybourne (Ted Danson was surprisingly good - just not exciting).

Best Dramatic Actor: JOHN NOBLE (I thought Damien Lewis would have sneeked in there instead of Hall.)

Best Dramatic Actress: CLAIRE DANES (it was Anna Torv until the last three episodes of Homeland, Nina Dobrev was good too.)

    Best Comedic Actor: DONALD GOLVER

Best Comedic Actress: ALISON BRIE (your choices are crap, again.)

Breakout Star: JASON GANN (Janey Levy was also pretty good.)

Funniest Late-Night Host: JOHN STEWART (again.)

Favorite Kid Character: LOUISE from Bob's Burgers (this was a tough one, all your choices were great, except I don't know who Luke Dunphy is, and Jenna from Awkward was good too.)

Favorite TV Couple: CHUCK BARTOWSKI & SARAH WALKER

Most Lovable "Monster": CAROLINE FORBES (how the hell did you idiots only give her 6 % of the vote??? She's the most adorable vampire ever to be imagined into existance. The Evil Monkey is NOT happy.)

Favorite Smarty-Pants: HOUSE (Bishop and Brennan are close contenders though.)

Biggest Badass: NIKITA (seriously, where is the love for Nikita?)

Best Team We'd Want On Our Side: NCIS or ISIS (NCIS would save you, but that would be boring.)

Best Web Comedy (Serial): THE ONION

Best Web Comedy (Episodic): THE GUILD

I'll have to check the home page more often than I usually do so I don't miss any more polls.moreless

Voted for Community...but unlike jaded personalities like most of you, I am going to start watching the shows that were pretty close to Community in the poll. I already started watching Breaking Bad and I love it, plan on watching Justified and Fringe next. I love Community fans, but don't harass people too much, and other tv shows' fans, don't be so butthurt that your show is losing, just try watching the whole first season of Community before you make a judgement. I have watched the whole first season of TVD and I am now educated enough to make an answer to that show: it sucked major balls. Rant over.

I don't like Community fans making fun of other shows too (unless it's 2 and a half men sorry) and I plan on checking the other shows out to... When they air in Australia (very slow but I've seen them advertised for coming soon I think)... And now that our new TV picks up all the channels properly. I hope Fringe and Justified fans check out Community if they haven't :D

FRINGE ALL THE WAY & then Justified is my second favorite!

You will NOT be disappointed in Fringe! It is the most unpredictable, amazingly brilliant show ever to be put on TV! I started watching because i am a huge Josh Jackson fan & absolutely LOVE & obsessed with this show & the entire cast! BUT a piece of advice ahead of time to you, make sure you watch EVERY episode twice to actually see the brilliance because it is such a complex show it will blow your mind! The first time to get the story & the second time to pick out the clues that will answer a question/questions from a previous episode or one to come. Be prepared to use your mind. When a show begins to feel this real, is it a wonder that the line between television and reality blurs? Also, there are people that have said they watched half of the 1st season & couldn't get into it but that is just when it starts to progress. It will definitely change the way you watch any other show on TV afterwards!moreless

Haha, whenever I watch a TV series, I watch the whole first season, no matter what, because I didn't get obsessed with Community until around the 10th episode, and Breaking Bad until about the 3rd. So I will watch Fringe until I finish the first season as well. Oh and you should check out Community too. It's a really funny innovative sitcom, as if the votes here didn't tell you otherwise haha

Community is fun and my second favourite on this list, but my vote goes to Fringe, which for me has been nothing but exceptional ever since it started :)

Community is Amazing!I love this show and I hope it can be saved!!

When Joel McHale talked to high school students about Community, he asked how many of them watch the show. Almost all of the hands went up. Then he asked how many watch it Thursdays at 8? No hands. Then he asked how many watch it online. Every hand went up.

The nielsen system is completely outdated and plain wrong. Even this poll will be a little victory for community, NBC execs need to realize that the world is changing. Young kids, that are their demographic for a show like this, don't watch it on tv. Millions of people watch Community online, and it is completely brilliant. I am one of those people. Don't cancel community. Watch it once, and realize how genuinely clever it is.

I don't think advertisers/networks are that interested in high school age viewers, since 18-49 is the key demographic. But I heard that scenario as college students, not high school. I think it's more likely that it was college, since comedians often do stand up on or near college campuses.

Game of Thrones.... If SOA was up there it'd be my second(damn they get shafted every time for the past 4 years)... I haven't seen all of these shows... but I seriously doubt you get the drama AND. swords, undead, beheadings, castles, dragons, and a man being killed by pouring boiling gold on his head in the other shows... totally immersive... once you are familiar with the cast, they make you care about them and what happens to them EVEN when they do dirty... just... wrong stuff (like Little Finger...I hate him in the show but damnit he is played well and one of my faves). The theme of the show says it all... You win... or you die.

But in Community you get paintball, paintball against giant ice cream cones, clip show with fake clips, a musical episode making fun of musicals. Arguing over a pen that was stolen by a monkey named Annie's Boobs, turning into zombies after eating taxi meat. A completely race free human being mascot, 6 different timeliness, Big Cheddar vs. Tinkletown, Abed dressing up as Batman. And of course a claymation Christmas episode with a Christmas pterodactyl.

This pool is proof that the world is home to MANY people who have no taste in television. Vampire Diaries beats Breaking Bad, Homeland, Justified, and Parks and Rec? Gimme a f**king break.

Wow. I'm very surprised Homeland has only gotten 2% of the votes.

It's definitely a great show. For me, it beat out: Justified, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Fringe (which I thought were the only competitors this year... and all of them had GREAT seasons).

I LOVE Community, but I think it's had a few weak episodes here and there this year. Also, I usually pick a drama for "Best Overall"...

This is really starting to piss me off!!! This count is definitely not accurate! The percentage for Fringe has remained the same for a week now & I know for a fact has been voted on many hundreds of times if not more but yet the percentage never changes.

These shows are not teenage choir shows. The only teenage show on this is TVD, which is actually quite good for one, though I'm not really a fan.
