Can the SRU keep a basketball player from committing suicide while dealing with the team's code of silence and help an abusive coach as well?
While the team tries to stop some gunrunners in the neighborhood the team discovers a surprise.
Flashpoint is an emotional journey following the lives of members of the SRU (Strategic Response Unit) as they solve hostage situations, bust gangs, and defuse bombs. They work by utilizing their training to get inside the heads of these people in order to make them reach their breaking… More point (aka their flashpoint).
Sgt. Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoni) leads the elite team on their missions. The show is based upon the experiences of the real life Toronto Police Emergency Task Force.
On August 26 2008, the show was renewed for a second season.
The show originally aired on Friday evenings, but after episode 2 it swapped slots with Swingtown for the remainder of the season.
Flashpoint is produced by Avamar Entertainment, CBS Paramount Network Television, CTV and Pink Sky Entertainment.
SPOILER WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE SEASON 3 FINALE AND DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, DO NOT READ AHEAD! ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** … More ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** ************************** So, assuming you've seen the finale, you know that Sam quits the SRU at the end. I'm just wondering, do you think he is actually being written out, or do you think he'll come back? It seems weird that they would write out 2 characters in one season, but I guess it's a possibility... Any thoughts/ideas?
Ok as of 7-27-08 this show has an overall rating of 7.2! SERIOUSLY?? What do people have against this show? Its one of the most emotional and entertaining cop shows that i have ever seen. It currently has 68 ABYSMALS on the overall ratings! WHY? Why do so many people hate this show/are against it??
I was wondering if anyone could help clear something up for me. I had season one with 9 episodes. Season 2 with 12, first being Eagle Two and last being Last Dance. Then season 3 started with One wrong move, then took a break after Behind the blue line and returned with Unconditional… More love. Now it seems that the episodes before the break are being classed as season 2 not season 3. Which two me doesn't make sense as I thought One wrong move was a great episode to start a season with, not so good to have half way through a season. I remember there was confusion with the first and second season as well, can anyone clear this up for me, as Im confused lol. Cheers.
Song 'Start Again' at the end of tonight's episode, (Custody) is now available on itunes! Performed by ILLIYUN. hide show
At the end of tonight's episode is a song called 'Start Again' by ILLIYUN, a beautiful piano ballad. After much demand from Canadian fans when the show first aired on CNN in October of last year, this song is finally available to buy on i-tunes, Amazon and other digital outlets! Classic, timeless and heartbreaking, it's the perfect match to the end montage! Flashpoint is a refreshing and gripping drama, that somehow manages to successfully merge action and suspense with the complexity of what it is to be human, in an age of convenience where life is anything but simple. Anyone who has a family will find it hard to hold back the tears at the end of 'Custody'.
Good show as previous years, but terrible audio now! This season is BAD! hide show
A great show - BUT - what on earth have they done to the audio? This season the background noise/"musical accompaniment" has been so loud that it has been difficult to understand the dialog at times! Have the producers started to copy some of the British shows? I sure hope that this will reach the right people and they'll do something about it. If this is supposed to appeal to the younger viewers I don't think it will be successful. A show cannot be considered a good show if one misses half the dialog! We always enjoyed this show in previous years it has been on.

Pleasant surprise. A lot deeper than most simmilar shows. hide show
One of the few pleasant surprises of the last couple of tv-seasons. It dares where others do the same old thing.
It's a decent cast and acting, but the show stands out becasue of the storyline.
The bad guys is often not that bad. This show lets us see why quite normal people get in the worst kind of trouble. Everything can change in one single day, and we're able to do things we'd never even believe capable of getting out of bed in the morning.
A special police squad often face people on their very worst day, and we get to follow both the subjects and the SRU squad on these days.
Well worth checking out this show. Highly recommended.
Flashpoint... Brilliant and Amazing! hide show
Flashpoint is a mixture of everything! Drama, Police Action, A hint of romance. CBS and CTV have one AMAZING show on their hands! Each character shows their own emotions and personality. No one follows each other. They aren't influenced in their actions by one another, but they feed off each others emotions. I have NEVER cried at a TV show before, but Flashpoint has a huge place in my heart. I feel as though this cast is like my family. They work together in harmony to give an amazing performance. Each story line is so beautifully written, the final line will bring tears to your eyes. The music choices are also one of the best parts of the production of Flashpoint! So many beautiful, meaningful, and passionate songs are played with this series. All in all. Flashpoint has definitely earned a Season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 have given so much action and entertainment! So, support this amazing Canadian series, and help it return to the networks next Fall!
I hope to see many awards from this exceptional show!
Flashpoint has brilliantly melded the difficulties of a Swat team's emergency incidents with the vagaries of the human condition. hide show
I never cry at TV! But this show gets me almost every single time. With characters and plotlines that I have no reason to relate to, they are that poignant, that powerful, that delicately produced. I'm helpless against this flawless drama.
I never watch cop shows, either. They are invariably the same old, same old procedural dramas. This is such a refreshing take, focusing on the emotional dilemmas of the people (including the cops), instead of the crimes.
Bravo to the technicians putting this together! If it doesn't get Emmy noms, Hollywood is crap! Thank you, Canada, for this exceptional show!
