Someone is killing a number of homeless people and draining their blood. Then a museum guard is killed the same way and a special artifact is stolen, a Mayan cup that Nick believes can help him become mortal again. Nick suspects that his old mentor Lacroix is in town and behind the murders.   • The version aired on CBS omits several scenes seen in the longer Canadian/European version:
    1) As Nick walks up the museum steps he hears Schanke's voice. As Schanke is too far away to be heard by a mortal, Nick tells a fellow cop that he can smell Schanke's cologne.
    2) Nick flinches at the sight of a cross walking up the steps.
    3) Nick shows Alyce that one of the suits of armor at the ROM is wrongly put together.
