The oldest of three children, Frank Grillo was born on June 8, 1965, and grew up in Upstate New York. He started acting in high school plays, but he was also a star athlete and dreamed of playing sports professionally. His parents wanted him to go to college first, and Frank was graduated from New York University with a degree in business. He worked on Wall Street for about a year before a chance meeting with a casting director landed him a gig in a beer commercial.



Frank eventually appeared in 25 commercials and guest-starred in Silk Stalkings and Poltergeist: The Legacy before joining the cast of The Guiding Light, playing Hart Jessup.



After leaving The Guiding Light in 1999., Frank had roles in pilots for Fiona and Legacy as well as roles in Wasteland, Battery Park, and For the People. He also appeared in several episodes of The Shield. He had a starring role as Detective Marty Russo on Blind Justice on ABC and civil rights attorney Nick Savrinn on Prison Break on Fox. In early 2006, Frank appeared in a pilot, Hollis & Rae, for ABC and Touchstone Television. His latest projects are The Madness of Jane produced by Fox 21 for Lifetime Television, The Kill Point for Bravo TV, and Blue Blood for NBC.



Frank's film credits include The Sweetest Thing, Minority Report, April's Shower, Raw Footage, Pride and Glory, iMurders, The Express, 25/8, Edge of Darkness, and Warrior.



Married to actress Wendy Moniz, Frank lives in New York City with their two sons.
