The original script to the film, available online, has generally been seen as fans of the series as far superior to this one. The original script picked up where the last film left off, introduced a series of dream police, and was overall would have been a better 'final' nightmare. (edit) During the end credit sequence several memorable moments from previous films are shown. One of them is Freddy's collapsing chest sequence from part four with the bare breasted soul. (edit) Robert Englund's most over-the-top performance as Freddy. (edit) The first Nightmare on Elm Street film to have an adult protagonist. (edit) The final battle with Freddy was shot in 3D. Rachel Talalay did not want to use that gimmick, but the marketing guys over-ruled her. Everything from when Maggie puts on the 3D glasses until she takes them off was the 3D part of time movie. Audience members were told to put the glasses on when she did. (edit)
