As Danny and Becky shoot an episode of Wake Up, San Francisco at a local stable (complete with Danny milking an actual cow), DJ bonds immediately with Rocket, a sweet and gentle horse who appears to be in need of a loving owner. Aware that her father would not accept this kind of family pet, DJ joins forces with Kimmy to secretly earn the money and purchase Rocket. All is going well until Kimmy backs out at the last minute, and as DJ's buries herself deeper in the lies, she may soon be in a heap of trouble with her father. Read full recap »

  • DJ is told that it will cost $100 a week to feed and stabilize her horse, should she choose to buy it. She decides that if she and Kimmy combine their savings and their allowance, they'll have just enough money, but it doesn't seem that DJ is aware of the fact that it is a weekly fee. It's extremely unlikely that a kid her age could come up with $100 every single week. edit »
  • First (and only) appearance of Rebecca's horse, Rocket. edit »
  • Introduction of Harry Takayama. edit »
  • The song used during the scenes of D.J. riding the horse is a cover version of Good Day Sunshine by The Beatles. edit »
  • We find out Kimmy's middle name's Louise. edit »
  • DJ: Dad, would you let me get a pet if I promise to feed it and take really good care of it?
Danny: Deej, a pet is a big responsibility.
    DJ: I already covered that.
Danny: Well, I suppose something small, like a hamster or a goldfish. Nothing with teeth. edit »
  • Jesse: Becky, can I ask you a personal question?
    Becky: Sure.
    Jesse: Do you eat dinner?
    Becky: Almost every night.
Jesse: This is amazing! So do I! Two people, both dinner-eaters. How often does that happen? Becky, have dinner with me tonight, please!
Becky: I'm sorry, I can't tonight. I have to work on my show.
    Jesse: It's the weekend.
Becky: I know, but this job is a big opportunity for me, and I really have to stay focused.
Jesse: I've got an idea. Take an hour, and focus on some pasta fazool. edit »
  • DJ: You know how much I love horses, and I just thought that if I could show you I could take care of Rocket all by myself, you would let me keep him.
Danny: Why didn't you just come to me in the first place?
DJ: Well, I started to, but then I thought you were gonna say no, so I stopped.
Danny: So you went ahead and did exactly what you wanted to!
    DJ: I'm sorry, Dad.
Danny: Well, I'm sorry too, because now I've got a big problem.
    DJ: What?
Danny: Well, you got a horse without my permission, you lied to me about where you've been after school, and you involved your sister in this! For the past two weeks, it's been nothing but lies, hasn't it?
    DJ: (near tears) Yeah.
Danny: So how I am gonna know if I can trust you anymore? edit »
  • Kimmy: (to DJ about Stephanie) Are you sure you want to trust her? She is such a blabbermouth.
Stephanie: I am not! Nobody knows about the Halloween candy hidden in my sock drawer. (pauses) I am a blabbermouth!
DJ and Kimmy: Halloween candy!!! edit »
  • Stephanie: Would you like something to eat, Harry?
Harry: Sure. I'll have a steak, medium rare.
Stephanie: We're out of steak. I'll make you my specialty, cheese doughnuts!
Harry: How do you make that?
Stephanie: It's easy. (folds a piece of cheese in half, takes a bite out of the middle, and opens it back up) See? Cheese doughnuts!
Harry: Wow, where did you learn to cook? edit »
  • DJ: (about the horse) Isn't he the most beautiful creature you have ever seen?
    Kimmy: No, Patrick Swayze is.

Patrick Swayze is a famous actor who is considered a heartthrob by his many female fans. He's perhaps most famous for playing the male lead in the film Dirty Dancing. edit »
  • Joey: Pay no attention to that man whose lips are moving.
Probably a play on the phrase Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain from the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. edit »
