Joey Gets Tough

Episode Number: 29    Season Num: 2    First Aired: Friday November 25, 1988    Prod Code: n/a
When Danny has to work late and leave Joey in charge of the girls for the evening, DJ and Stephanie pounce at the opportunity to take advantage of the situation. It’s one thing when they con Joey into letting them stay up late for a Tiffany concert, but when Danny urges Joey to toughen up with the kids, he takes it to heart and later goes so far as to ground DJ for her disrespectful behavior. As the issue spirals out of control, Joey questions his judgment when he fears that it may impact his bond with the children he’s grown to love. Meanwhile, Jesse and his band are scheduled to make an appearance on Wake Up, San Francisco, but what will happen when the crowd specifically requests to see the dancing talents of Danny Tanner?

Stephanie: Let's do something with Joey tonight.
DJ: Hey Joey, look what's on the tube! An educational special about Japan!
Stephanie: It's our lucky day!
Joey: Let me see this "educational special about Japan." (takes TV guide) Would it be Tiffany Live from Tokyo?
DJ: Yeah, that's it! (edit)
Joey: The girls asked me if they could stay up a little later.
DJ: We had no idea he'd say yes....
Joey: Plus, it was an educational program.
Danny: Tiffany?
Joey: Tiffany Live from Tokyo! Danny, this is coming to us via satellite from one of Japan's oldest and most sacred malls. (edit)
Danny: Michelle, you've hardly eaten anything. Don't you like your potatoes?
Michelle: Cookie.
Joey: Doesn't that chicken look good?
Michelle: Cookie, Joey.
Danny: Okay. Here are some Boston-baked cookies!
Michelle: Beans!
Danny: Beans? Oh, so they are. My mistake.... (edit)
Danny: Mmm, great fried chicken. Joey, this could be your most delicious meal of the year.
Joey: Well, thanks, Danny. I was a little nervous at first, but once I actually drove up to the takeout window, I felt strong. (edit)
Jesse: (to DJ) I have to say that I side with Joseph one hundred percent. You do the crime, you do the time. Pay the pipe, face the music man. You got to bite the book...I've been watching too many old movies. (edit)
