Young Ed: Hey there... old lady!
(Izumi jumps up, yells, and flips her bed over them)

Young Al: Uh, we're sorry, ma'am!
(edit) Izumi: Everything that lives, has to die. That's the nature of the world.
(edit) Mason: Is that you, Edward? Haven't seen you in a while. So... you've finally grown a little bit, haven't you?
Ed: He loves to piss me off. (edit)

Goof: Disappearing Horse:
When the boys with the broken train come to Izumi's house, there is a clay horse in the walkway that Al just transmuted. When the boys leave less then a minute later, the horse is gone.
(edit) In earlier episodes Izumi's hometown was pronounced as 'Daebris' instead of the correct way, 'Dublith'. It's finally corrected in this episode. (edit) Izumi, like Ed, can simply do alchemy by clapping her hands together. (edit) Izumi finds out for the first time that Ed and Al tried to resurrect their mother with alchemy. (edit)

Cultural Allusion: Japanese "Honorifics" and Persons of Importance:
Beginning with this episode, we see another form of honorifics when Ed and Al address Izumi as "Teacher." While she is in fact their teacher, the term implies respect for her abilities and profession, as well as her social standing in Dublith.
