Patrick Stuart takes over the role of Dr. Zee from Robbie Rist. Also, he no longer wears the glasses the character wore in the pilot. Nor does his voice echo and sound like an elderly woman. edit »
This episode returns to the original BSG standard of utilizing similar yet different terminology for time, currency, animals and other everyday items. Dillon refers to gold as "aurics," and there is a reference to "yahrens" instead of years. Use of Earth terms comes only after study with the langutron. edit »
The air of Earth is thinner than that of the fleet and, presumably, the 12 colonies. This is reminiscent of the Terran colony planet in the original BSG episode "Greetings from Earth." edit »
The title refers to two plot points: First, because the fleet's gravity is set higher than Earth's, it's residents are stronger than Earth humans and have the ability to jump high. Second, they pose as Boy Scouts in attempts to blend in. edit »
This two-parter is a rather obvious attempt to address the dangers of pollution, as three of the Galactica children drink contaminated water and fall ill. edit »

Troy: What happened?
Dillon: (nodding towards the revolving door) I don't know. I went in and threw me back out.
Troy: Threw you out?
Dillon: Troy, you don't suppose they have some kind of alien detector, do you? edit »
Troy : Children, we won't going back to the fleet. You're about to be the first children from the stars to set foot on the planet Earth. edit »
Troy: Attack claxon..!
Dillon: Must be a mistake... the Cylons haven't attacked in a generation! edit »

CHP Officer: How come this never happens to those two guys on TV?
When Troy and Dillon activate their cycle flight modes to escape the California Highway Patrol motorcycles, one of the officers comments that this never happens to "those two guys on TV." This is a reference to the series "ChiPs," which focuses on a pair of CHP motorcycle officers. The disco-esque version of the Galactica theme is similar to the orchestration of the "ChiPs" theme. edit »
