Although born in England, Chalk has lived in Canada since 1957.

Garry can often be found at The Grind & Gallery coffee shop on Main St. and 25th in Vancouver BC. This is a regular place for him and he can be found here on Friday and Saturday nights having a coffee and going over scripts or just reading a good book.(edit)
