Babylon 5 - Sleeping in Light. Seeing the station explode, and Sheridan being taken away makes me bawl, even thinking about it. "There's still so much I don't understand." "That is as it should be." Beautiful stuff!

The Shield - Post Partum. The scene where Shane kills Lem is stunning, and the best of the entire series. There's a very heavy feeling to that scene, and shock when Lem lives for a minute or two afterward which is horrifying to think about.

Oz - I can't remember the name of the episode, but it's the one where Cyril O'Reilly is to be executed. The episode had my wife and I in tears, watching Ryan's reaction and helplessness, and the fact that Cyril should never have been in Oz to begin with. The only problem with this episode is the last minute reprieve for Cyril. I think it would've been better if they'd gone through with the execution, since the reprieve undermines the rest of the episode.

The one that comes to my mind before any other was the Christmas episode of My So-Called Life. I have never been able to watch that one without crying.

I'm so surprised no one has mentioned Six Feet Under yet, that's probably the most life-changing show that's been on television. The last four episodes of that show are extremely sad.

there were many really sad episodes, but first that comes on my mind is the one from Kommissar Rex (Austrian police drama), when the first master of Rex was killed and that sad look in dog's eyes made me cry for hours... well, I was a young kid back then, but last week I saw few seconds of it again and immediatelly got wet eyes

ER's "On The Beach"--> Mark Greene is dying, but before he dies, he wants to repair his relationship with his daughter. This episode is by far the most gut wrenching hour of television that I have ever seen. I didn't just "tear up"...but the end, my whole face was swollen.

Buffy S05E16 (The Body): Buffy's mom dies

Dawson's Creek S05E04 (The Long Goodbye): Dawson's dad dies

One Tree Hill S03E16 (With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept): Keith dies

Special mention goes to the very last episode of Friends, only because you know you'd never see them together again (except for reruns).

The Futurama episode alreadymentioned several times (and rightfully so)is by far and away the saddest I have seen. We are talking free flowing tears.

Another episodenot mentioned yet that got to me was "Cry Your Name" from Roswell (Season 2) - where Alex dies. What really got me teared up was when Maria sang Amazing Grace at the funeral.
