    B-Y F-A-R!!!

Rosalind Shayes dropping to hear death into an elevator shaft during the 1991 season of L.A. Law.

I have never been caught so off guard and been so rattled up by a scene before or since.

That is one of the lamest lists I have ever seen in my life. (I couldn't find it right away--had to use the "cached" page from Google.)

    I agree with:

    12. Dr. Romano vs. The Helicopter - shocked the hell out of me.

    32. Teri Bauer killed at the end of "24" S1.

    98. Commander Adama shot at end of "Battlestar Galactica" S1. I had to rewatch that one a dozen times, I was in such disbelief.

Yet, the list has all sorts of things that don't seem to belong at all.

William Hung? Was a bad, very bad, audition unexpected? Was his becoming a talked-about sensation really a "TV moment"?

Adrianna gets wacked on the Sopranos? I saw that coming for weeks.

The all-singing episode of "Buffy"? Amazingly well-done and totally inventive, yes. A "moment"? Unexpected? Not really.

A golf shot by Tiger Woods? Jessica Simpson not understanding what "Chicken of the Sea" is? Bush dancing with Ricky Martin? Lame, lame, lame, and off-topic.

The biggest unexpected moment? This damn list notes gay lovers seen in bed on "thirtysomething"--and NOT Gary getting killed? Now THAT is one of my most unexpected TV moments of all time.

If we're going to talk "Lost," definitely seeing the wheelchair at the end of the Locke episode, "Walkabout."

    UNEXPECTED IN A GOOD WAY

Peter White is revealed as the serial rapist on "Saint Elsewhere"!
Maddy Ferguson's horrific murder on "Twin Peaks"!
Rita is revealed as mentally challenged on "Arrested Development"!
Willow viciously skins Warren alive on "Buffy"!
To his own shock Jim Ignatowski plays the piano on "Taxi"!
Claire Kincaid dies in a car accident on "Law and Order"!
"Newhart" is all a dream in the mind of Bob Hartley!
Capt. Mal Reynolds deliberately throws Jayne in the airlock on "Firefly"!
Andy Travis is secretly working for Mama Carlson on "WKRP in Cincinati"!
Teri Bauer is found dead on "24"!
The last scene of "Twin Peaks"!

    UNEXPECTED IN A BAD WAY

"Law and Order's" Serena Sotherlyn is a lesbian?
Season 7 of "Dallas" is all a dream?
Zach and Flo win "The Amazing Race"?
    "Roseanne's" Dan Connor is dead?
Aaron Sorkin is fired from "The West Wing"?
The season finale of "Star Trek: Enterprise" was how bad?

Undertaker throwing Mankind off the Hell In A Cell within the first few minutes of the match starting.

    Almost every twist in Lost.

The death of Vaughn in Alias.

The death of Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG1, episode Meridian.

When they showed how crazy the stuff Scientology people really believe in South Park.

How really really bad Red Dwarf got after season six.

The first time I saw a Special Ed call in Crank Yankers.

Devoted Sister Beloved ****, in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Buster losing his hand to a loose seal in Arrested Development.

I so never saw any of them coming, which is so cool when watching TV as spoilers suck, and yeah Nates death in Six Feet Under too.
