George Kennedy: Biography

George's Parents were an orchestra leader and a ballet dancer. Starting at the age of two, he was on the stage and was a radio performer. During WWII he enlisted in the Army and stayed for 16 years. He saw combat and later was an Armed Forces radio and television officer. When he re-entered civilian life, he became a technical advisor for the SERGEANT BILKO TV series. He has appeared in many TV shows and movies. He is usually best noted for his Academy Award winning supporting actor performance in COOL HAND LUKE and as PETRONI in the AIRPORT movie series.
