Emily: I've known you all your life, Christopher. I watched you grow up. I didn't think much of you then. I still don't.
Christopher: Uh, okay. Thank you for dropping by to share that with me! (edit)
Sookie: Michel is too anal for his own good. (edit)
Lorelai: Listen. My parents are very weird people. They don’t hate you. They just don’t know you. This is the perfect opportunity. They’ll be happy. They’ll be smashed. You show up, shake some hands, get in a few family pictures, and before you know it my mother will be trying to convince you you’re too good for me. Come on, it’ll be fun. Good food. Open bar. I’m wearing a fabulous dress and as maid of honor, if you’re not there, I’ll have to get drunk and make out with the best man. Who is Rory. So you can see all the creepy ramifications of your absence here. (edit)
Lorelai: Hey, Lane.
Lane: Hi, Lorelai.
Lorelai: Hmm. You look different.
Lane: I do?
Lorelai: Yeah, you look cute. I mean, you always look cute, but this is just a new facet of your cuteness.
Lane: Thanks. You look cute too.
Lorelai: I have a boyfriend, so maybe this flirting thing we’ve got going on should just end here. (edit)
Lorelai: You know what ruins your REM sleep, is those articles about REM sleep. And you know what could help you forget those articles about REM sleep? (edit)

Trivia

add »
In this episode, Emily says that she has a hair appointment on Friday afternoon. This contradicts the statement she made in season two, which is that she has a standing hair appointment for every Wednesday at three. (edit)
In this episode, Lane's Korean replacement asks for a Monte Cristo sandwich, but in a previous season, when Luke gets new menus, it's said that he took off that sandwich. (edit)
At the end of this episode, when Emily shows up at Christopher's apartment to warn him that if he wants a chance with Lorelai he'd better act fast, she lists some of the reasons she does not think Luke is a suitable match for Lorelai. One of these reasons is that Luke is divorced. However, Christopher is also divorced. In "The Great Stink" it is specifically mentioned that Christopher and Sherry were married and divorced. (edit)
After hitting Emilys car,Richard and her argue about her date with Simon and he brings up his lunches with Pennilyn not meaning anything and how Emily didn't let that go,basically implying that it was the reason for their seperation. However, the Pennilyn situation, while a sour spot and absolutely the start of their problems,it is not the reason they seperated. They seperated because he insisted on ruining Jasons' career and Emily was afraid that it would cause Lorelai(who was dating him)to stop talking to them and was upset with Richard for not caring. This fact was also never again mentioned following the initial seperation. (edit)
When Rory and Logan hang out in the bar for the second time, Logan gives Rory back her notes that he used for his story. He only gave her about 1/4 of the notes she gave him the first time they met. (edit)

Luke: Hey, twice a week you’re going to bed at 9:30 like a 72-year-old woman because I have early deliveries, so I figured the least I could do is make sure you don’t miss your Charlie Rose or your Patrick Stewart –
Lorelai: Jon Stewart.

Jon Stewart is a comedian, know for hosting his own talk show "The Daily Show". Patrick Steward is a British actor mostly know for portraying the role of Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard on a television series "Star Trek". Strangly, PS was once a host of SNL, and JS was about to be (had to back out). Also, a funny comment, in the episode "A Family Matter"(4x12) Lorelai told Jason that she feels uncomfortable dating a trekkie. (edit)
Luke: Mel Brooks is never on Charlie Rose, and when he is on he's talking about Nazis, and then you go to sleep and you dream about Nazis and they all look like Nathan Lane, and you're creeped out for days.

Luke is referring to The Producers, the Broadway hit produced by Mel Brooks. Nathan Lane plays Max Bialystock, who in the show buys a horrible play with his partner to make money. The play is about Hitler and the Nazi Party. (edit)
Lorelai: The toothpaste world. Is that anything like Whoville?

Reference to the Dr. Seuss books Horton Hears a Who and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. (edit)
Lane: My Sam Ash catalogs!

Sam Ash is a big retailer of musical instruments, amps, etc. (edit)
Sookie: I wonder what kind of ghost we have?
Lorelai: Maybe a Confederate soldier.
Sookie: Or a lonely spinster that never married.
Lorelai: Or Patrick Swayze.

Patrick Swayze played the ghost in Ghost (1990). (edit)
