During the first dinner scene with Emily, Rory asks if the dining room chairs are new, and Emily replies that she got them at an antique store up in Maine. This leads us to believe that she was actually there in Maine to get them. However, during the 6th season finale, Partings, Emily is talking to Christopher at dinner and says, "Lynnie just moved here from Maine. Isn't that interesting? I've never been to Maine..." edit »

When Lorelai and Rory go to Luke's after Friday night dinner, Luke says he's going to put on a new pot of coffee. Rachel talks to Lorelai for about two minutes and then Rory arrives with coffee. Wasn't that awfully quick for Luke to load and finish a new pot? edit »
When Lorelai comes down from Luke's apartment, Luke allows her to be behind the counter. However, in a later episode when Luke and Lorelai has started dating, Lorelai goes behind the counter and Luke freaks out. He tells her she isn't allowed behind the counter because his insurance won't cover her if something happens. edit »

The abandoned inn that Rachel finds, is the family house that was used in the 1972-1981 CBS TV series The Waltons. The house (or inn) has quite a history on television, as it was also used in other TV series including Mayberry R.F.D and the series finale of Lassie that aired in 1971. It has been modified several times. edit »
Lorelai mentions that she once played a Prince song for her mother, who nearly had a stroke. This is based on an incident from series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's youth. edit »
